Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear sir,

I am writting this letter as feedback for the concert which held in july 28 in beaconsfield park i attended that free concert of my local area at very firts time and my experience for that event is positive as i was well organised.

Firstly i liked that it was for celebrating teej festival as whole community living in local area is india so you organised the event according to prefrences of all generations like there were rides for children along with food stalls and traditional bangle and coustume vendors .I enjoyed the bhangra and gidda dance most as part of concert it catches the attention of all guests .Moving further , no body feels boar during the event as there are folk singers and dance performances following options for food and drinks on stalls which provided opportunity to people to earn.

Consequentally, i want to give some suggestions for upcomming summer concerts first of all there should be more chairs for guets as i observed some people didn't get the seats .Secondly ,some places should have shadow or tents due to facing sun some people left the event early.

I hope you will consider my suggestions thank you for giving me chance to write a review .

you sinceriely

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three points: you identify the event as the Teej concert in Beaconsfield Park on July 28, explain that you enjoyed the dances and the range of activities, and suggest more seating and shaded areas. These details make your feedback relevant and give the council practical information. Your reasons for enjoying the concert are supported with examples, such as the bhangra and gidda performances and stalls. To make the response more fully developed, clarify a few points—for example, explain more directly how the event was well organised, and specify how additional seating or shade would improve visitors’ experience. The letter’s purpose and overall positive view are clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a recognisable progression from the event and your positive experience to suggestions and a closing. Paragraphing helps separate the main feedback from the recommendations, and signposts such as “Firstly” and “Secondly” guide the reader. This gives the response a coherent overall arrangement. However, some linking is mechanical or unclear: “Consequentally” introduces suggestions awkwardly, while “Moving further” does not clearly show the relationship between the ideas that follow. The long first body paragraph also combines several different points, making the sequence harder to follow. Use clearer transitions and divide the enjoyment details into more focused sentences or paragraphs to make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “traditional,” “performances,” “food stalls,” “vendors,” and “suggestions,” and these choices help communicate the event’s atmosphere and your recommendations. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “bhangra and gidda dance.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “writting,” “prefrences,” “coustume,” and “boar.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “it catches the attention of all guests” and “following options for food and drinks.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause, although the main meaning remains understandable. Check spelling carefully and practise natural collocations for describing events and audience experiences.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Firstly i liked that it was for celebrating…” and a longer description of the activities at the concert. This shows some range, and the main message can generally be followed. However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “the concert which held in july 28” needs a relative clause and a suitable preposition, while “my experience … is positive as i was well organised” has unclear sentence structure and reference. There are also missing articles and inconsistent capitalisation, as in “at very firts time” and “i.” Aim for shorter, complete sentences first, then build complexity with accurate clauses and consistent punctuation.
