Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I hope you're doing great. I am writing to you regarding one of the free concert which took place last week in my local park. I am sharing my feedback on how i felt about it.
Firstly, the concert which I attended was "Exhibition of art". Many individuals took part in it by showcasing their skills and how art play an important part in our lives.
Secondly, I really enjoyed it because I have been working in this field from last seven years and this directly aligns with my goals. Additionally, participants made my day, I observed kid to an adult, everyone has something to display respective of their skills on hand.
On the flip side, I observed some drawbacks, for instance, there were not enough space to accommodate all the participants. Moreover, food was not warm and had been served cold duringan event. If you take these consideration into account for next events then it would be fantastic.
Thank you for your time and looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours Sincerely,
XYZ

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you identify the concert as “Exhibition of art,” explain your interest through your seven years in the field, and suggest improvements concerning space and food. These are relevant details, and the reader can understand your overall positive response. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The concert’s title is unclear as a description of a concert, and the reasons for enjoying the performances could be explained more specifically. Your suggestions would also be stronger if you proposed practical solutions, such as a larger performance area or better food-service arrangements, rather than only noting the problems. Overall, the task is covered, but some ideas need clearer explanation and support to be more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about the concert and your enjoyment, a paragraph on drawbacks and suggestions, and a polite closing. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” help the reader follow the points, and the contrast marker “On the flip side” signals a change in focus. This gives the response a coherent progression. At times, however, the linking feels mechanical, and some connections between ideas are not fully clear. For example, the sentence about participants making your day moves quickly into the range of ages and skills without explaining the link. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each detail more explicitly to your feedback or recommendation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main message, including relevant terms such as “participants,” “showcasing,” “drawbacks,” and “accommodate.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “aligns with my goals.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, including “Exhibition of art” for the concert, “skills on hand,” and “food was not warm.” “I am sharing my feedback” is also less natural in this formal context. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim to use familiar, accurate collocations for performances, audience capacity, and catering, and check word forms and spelling, including the lowercase “i” and “duringan.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional sentence beginning “If you take these consideration into account.” Most of the message remains understandable, and the letter’s basic sentence structure is clear. Some grammatical errors remain, however. In “one of the free concert,” the noun should be plural; “art play” needs subject–verb agreement; and “there were not enough space” has a number-agreement error. The conditional sentence also needs a plural form for “consideration,” while “I have been working … from last seven years” uses an incorrect time expression and preposition. Review articles, plurals, agreement, and time phrases, then proofread punctuation and capitalization to improve accuracy.
