Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to contribute my feedback about the recent concerts which were held in Valentine park in London on 23rd May to 26th May. I attended one of the concert called Blackpink singing concert which is took place on 24th May at 6pm onwards.

I really enjoyed the concert, Volunteers guided visitors to the availlable seats and helped through the event. The participents were also very friendly after the event finished they offered to take photographs who attend the event with there authographs which made event more special. The auditorium was supeior level. Interior and sound system played the major part to enchanced the singing event with special effects.

However, there is a manor issue which we all faced is a parking facilities are very limited. As so many individuals can't park there car in the parking lot because of no space. Which made a bit problem to find alternative parking center near the park. I would like to give a suggestion for council for the problem of parking. To resolve the issue by showing the clear sign for forthcoming vechiles to park in alternative centers so the public would not face an issue on upcoming summer concerts.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Damaraka Polisetty.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three points clearly: you identify the Blackpink concert and its date and time, explain that helpful volunteers, friendly performers, and the venue’s sound and effects made it enjoyable, and suggest clearer signs directing drivers to alternative parking. These details give the letter a clear purpose and support your positive and negative feedback. The parking suggestion is relevant, although it could be developed further—for example, by proposing additional parking or a shuttle service, rather than relying only on signs. The enjoyment section also lists several features without explaining their impact in much depth. Overall, the task is fully addressed and the ideas are clear, but some support remains general rather than thoroughly developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter has a clear overall progression: an opening that identifies the event, a paragraph about what you enjoyed, a paragraph describing the parking problem and offering a solution, and an appropriate closing. This makes the purpose easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “However” and “because” to show contrast and cause. Some connections within paragraphs are less smooth, particularly in the enjoyment paragraph, where several details run together, and the sentence beginning “Which made a bit problem” is not clearly attached to the preceding idea. Separating the positive points into shorter, connected sentences and linking the parking problem directly to its effect would make the progression more consistently clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “volunteers,” “alternative parking,” “sound system,” and “special effects,” which helps communicate the event and the practical concern. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “availlable,” “participents,” “supeior,” “enchanced,” and “vechiles” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “Blackpink singing concert,” “offered to take photographs who attend the event,” and “parking facilities are very limited.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, such as “Blackpink concert,” “take photographs with attendees,” and “parking spaces were limited.” This would make your vocabulary more precise and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and a relative clause in “which were held in Valentine park.” The main message remains understandable, but errors recur in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and agreement. For example, “one of the concert called” needs a plural noun and clearer structure, while “which is took place” has an incorrect verb form. The sentence “As so many individuals can't park there car” also has problems with its opening construction and possessive agreement, and “Which made a bit problem” is an incomplete sentence. Practise building complete sentences with accurate verb forms and checking singular/plural agreement; this will improve control while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
