Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir,

I liked your efforts of organising free concerts for public in the local park . It gave an opportunity to locals to get together and a momemt to enjoy with loved onces .

Being a full time worker it was difficult to attend all the concerts ,however I was able to attend concert hosted by Zakir Khan .He is a famous bolywood singer and my favourite among all .

Moving further ,If I talk about the concert it was well organised .I enjoyed it a lot because of unique open air vibes. On the top of that , Khan sung almost all of the latest songs . So it was a beautiful night overall .

Nevertheless ,it can be said that the sitting plan can be improved further .Although nobody likes to sit during concerts but having better sitting arrangements can be beneficial for those who face some physical health issues.

Regards ,

manpreet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you identify the Zakir Khan concert, explain that you enjoyed the open-air atmosphere and the songs, and suggest improving seating for people with health issues. The positive response is clear and relevant. The explanation of enjoyment is reasonably specific, but the improvement suggestion is less fully developed: you could explain what changes would help, such as adding more chairs, accessible seating, or clearer reserved areas. The opening also refers to the concerts generally before narrowing to the one you attended. Overall, the task is covered, with some ideas more fully explained than others; adding detail to the practical suggestion would make the response more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter has a clear progression from general appreciation, to the concert attended, to your reasons for enjoying it, and finally to a suggestion. Paragraph breaks help the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “however,” “On the top of that,” and “Nevertheless” signal relationships between ideas. The sequence is logical throughout. Some transitions feel formulaic or slightly awkward, particularly “Moving further” and “If I talk about the concert,” and the opening paragraph could connect more directly to the specific event. For stronger cohesion, use simpler, more natural transitions and make the link between your overall praise and the concert details more direct.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “open air vibes,” “well organised,” “latest songs,” and “sitting arrangements,” so your meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “a beautiful night overall.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “efforts of organising,” “a momemt to enjoy,” and “sitting plan.” Spelling errors such as “momemt,” “onces,” and “bolywood” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable range of natural phrases for formal feedback, and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you express your positive impressions and practical recommendation with greater fluency.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “I enjoyed it a lot because of…” and a concession in “Although nobody likes to sit during concerts…”. The main ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, however: articles are missing in “for public” and “attend concert,” and the verb form in “Khan sung” should be “Khan sang.” There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, such as the run-on transition after “concerts” and inconsistent spacing around commas and full stops. Review articles, past-tense forms, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence to improve accuracy while retaining your varied structures.
