Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to provide my feedbacka about the free concert which I attend in this summer. I have keen interest of joining concerts and this concerts is very popular in my hometown.

I have recently attend a music concert of famous artist name of his is Jass Manak. He is well-know artist in all around the distict world. The main reason why I atttend free concerts is because of my famous singer. Additionally, This concert s free due to this, it allows to other my kith and kins to attend thhe music concert.

I was amazed by the performance of artist. I was really enjoyed ths concert because of optimistic environmnet with different type of people from other nations. It was a great experience to watch our favourite music concert with renowed personality musician.

I would provide some suggestions to improve summer concerts which will helpful for others to enjoyed in net yaer.Firstly, concert area was vey small due to this, everybody face diffculties to enjoy the concets because of this isue. Alternatively, I would suggest more security staff to handle the public.Individuals were break the rules which leads to that, there were need of more staff which handled the public more safely.

I would appreciate it If you work on above suggestions.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours Sincerely,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you identify the concert as Jass Manak’s, explain that you enjoyed the performance and atmosphere, and suggest a larger venue and more security staff. These relevant details meet the task well. The reasons for enjoyment are present, but some are not fully clear or developed—for example, the reference to people from “other nations” is not explained, and the point about the singer is repeated rather than expanded. Your suggestions are useful, though explaining how a larger space or better crowd management would improve the experience would make them more persuasive. The response already shows clear coverage of the task; fuller, more specific support would strengthen it further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from its purpose to the concert, your reaction, suggestions and a polite closing. Paragraphing helps separate these functions, and connectors such as “Additionally,” “Firstly” and “Alternatively” show an effort to guide the reader. However, some links are mechanical or unclear: “Alternatively” does not introduce an alternative to the small venue, and “due to this” is repeated without making the relationship between ideas easy to follow. The sentence about rule-breaking and the need for staff is also difficult to track. Use fewer repeated linkers and make each sentence’s connection to the previous point explicit to create smoother progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to concerts and public events, including “performance,” “security staff,” “public” and “suggestions,” and you attempt more expressive language such as “optimistic environment” and “renowned personality.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the message harder to understand: “keen interest of joining concerts,” “famous artist name of his is,” and “enjoy the concerts” are examples. Spelling errors such as “distict,” “atttend” and “environmnet” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, say “attend concerts,” “a well-known artist” and “a lively atmosphere.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including explanations with “because” and a relative clause beginning “which leads to.” However, control of verb forms, articles, agreement and sentence construction is inconsistent. Examples include “which I attend” instead of “which I attended,” “I have recently attend,” and “I was really enjoyed.” In “this concerts is,” the demonstrative and verb do not agree with the plural noun. Some sentences also lack clear grammatical structure, particularly “Individuals were break the rules.” These errors can make parts of the letter difficult to follow. Practise accurate past-tense forms and build complex sentences around a clear subject and verb before adding extra clauses.
