This summer your local council organised a series of free concerts in your local park. You attended one of the concerts. The council has asked for feedback about the concerts.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to share my genuine review regarding the successful concerts organized by your team in our community park. I want to attend each concert but due to office commitments was only able to enjoy the cultural drama theatre.

I was surprised too see huge crowd gathering around the park who just came to watch that show. I must say that the play was the best as the artists. Moreover, the dialogue delivery shows artist's hard practise before their final performance. Everyone cheers them with loud clapping and hooting.

I believe your management has well organized the whole event with their best capacity. However, I want to share few suggestions for future summer's concerts, the maximum seat arrangements for the elderly people and more water tanker because this time people gets annoyed or went back due to lack of above these 2 services.

I hope you will take my suggestion in a positive way.

Your sincerely,

Rahul Kumar

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you identify the concert as a “cultural drama theatre,” explain that you enjoyed the play and the performers’ delivery, and suggest more seating for elderly people and additional water tankers. The positive response is clear, and the suggestions are relevant. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, “the play was the best as the artists” does not clearly explain what made the performance enjoyable, and the practical suggestions would be stronger if you explained how they would help attendees. The concert description could also be more precise about the type of performance. Develop these details so the council can understand both what worked and what should change.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: you introduce your purpose, describe the concert, offer suggestions, and close politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “However” show how ideas relate. This meets the lower-band expectation of an organised response and shows some movement towards more flexible cohesion. At times, though, connections are awkward or unclear. The sentence beginning “However, I want to share few suggestions” joins the suggestions and their explanation in a confusing way, while “above these 2 services” is an unclear reference. Use clearer transitions and divide the suggestions into separate sentences to make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of vocabulary relevant to the event, including “dialogue delivery,” “performance,” “elderly people,” and “lack.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “genuine review,” “the best as the artists,” and “maximum seat arrangements.” “Hooting” may also suggest disapproval rather than enthusiastic applause in this context. These noticeable inaccuracies limit precision, even though the reader can generally understand your meaning. Aim for natural combinations such as “positive feedback,” “the performers were excellent,” and “more seating for older attendees,” and check that each word conveys the intended tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “I want to attend each concert but due to office commitments was only able to enjoy…” and the explanation of why some people left. The overall message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “I was surprised too see” has an incorrect infinitive form, “Everyone cheers them” shifts tense from the past account, and “people gets annoyed or went back” has inconsistent agreement and verb forms. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention in “share few suggestions” and the long sentence introducing your recommendations. Review verb tense consistency and agreement, and separate connected ideas into complete, controlled sentences.
