Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Respected sir,

I am writing this letter to give you a feedback related to concert that have attended by me last night at my local park. I was really amazing concert that I have never seen in my life.

There are three concerts and the most famous series and I like personally was ' THE POWE OF SUBCONCIOUS MIND. When I heard about this concert I have prepared my mind in whatever situation I will definitely attend this concert.

I enjoy the concert because the atmosphere was absolutely amazing, and energetic crowd made the whole experience unforgettable. Moreover, I had been waiting for this opportunity for a long time, so being able to attend the concert finally made me feel extremely happy.

For next summer concert, I would like to make a few suggestion. First, the organisers should arrange more seating area so that people can relax and enjoy the performance comfortably. Secondly, the organisers should invite more popular singers and musicians to attract a large audience and make the event more entertaining.

Yours faithfully,

Smruti Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you identify the concert, explain your enjoyment, and offer two practical suggestions for next summer. The atmosphere, energetic crowd, and long wait help explain your positive reaction, while additional seating and more popular performers are relevant improvements. However, the concert identification is unclear: “THE POWE OF SUBCONCIOUS MIND” does not make it evident whether this was a music concert or another kind of event. The reason for enjoying it is more developed than the identification, and the suggestions are not supported with details about how they would improve the event. Clarify the concert’s name and type, then briefly explain the benefits of each suggestion to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph identifying the event, an explanation of your enjoyment, and a final paragraph with suggestions. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “First,” and “Secondly” help readers follow the points, and the progression from feedback to recommendations is logical. Some connections are less clear, however. The sentence beginning “There are three concerts” does not clearly explain how the named event relates to the series, and “When I heard about this concert” leads into an awkwardly connected statement about preparing your mind. The opening also repeats the idea of attending without smoothly introducing the event. Make these links more direct and use paragraph transitions that show how each point relates to the council’s request.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the letter, including positive descriptions such as “energetic crowd” and “unforgettable,” as well as relevant terms such as “organisers,” “seating area,” and “audience.” These choices communicate your main ideas, and the suggestions are easy to understand. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, though: “a feedback” is not the natural expression, “a concert that have attended by me” is awkward, and “THE POWE OF SUBCONCIOUS MIND” contains spelling errors that obscure the event’s name. “More seating area” is also imprecise. Aim for natural phrases such as “feedback on the concert,” “the concert I attended,” and “more seating.” Proofread names and spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a reason clause in “I enjoy the concert because…” and a result clause in “so being able to attend… made me feel extremely happy.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors are noticeable and limit accuracy. For example, “concert that have attended by me” has an incorrect verb construction, while “I was really amazing concert” is missing a suitable structure such as “It was a really amazing concert.” There are also errors in “I have prepared my mind in whatever situation I will definitely attend” and “make a few suggestion.” Check verb forms, sentence completeness, and singular/plural agreement. Using a wider range of structures is useful, but ensure each clause is grammatically complete.
