Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to provide my feedback regards to a music concert which was held in our local park.
One of the main reason I attended this concert was the artist. It was performed by King ( a hip hop musician). He usually write songs related to daily lifestyles. His lyrics encourage me to live life without being stressed.
I went there with group of my friends. We had great time over there the reason behind that is we reached early at the location and therefore we got the front row. This enables us to enjoy the show without any difficulties and disturbance.
There is one suggestion that I would like to offer is arranging few garbage bins. I had noticed a lot garbage after the concert mainly consisting of plastic bottles and food packets. If there will any garbage bins available next time people may encourage to maintain cleanliness in the park.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration. I will be glad if you find this solution helpful.
Yours faithfully,
Riya Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the performer as King, explain that his lyrics help you feel less stressed, and suggest adding bins. The reasons for enjoying the event are relevant, especially getting a front-row position with friends, but they are not fully developed; for example, you could describe the atmosphere or the performance itself. The improvement suggestion is clear and supported by the litter you observed, though it is limited to one practical change. The letter is appropriately framed for a formal council request. To strengthen the response further, develop the concert experience in more detail and offer another specific improvement, such as clearer event information or more seating.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens with its purpose, moves through the performer and your experience, then gives a suggestion and closes politely. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and links such as “therefore” and “If” show relationships between ideas. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. In “We had great time over there the reason behind that is…,” the explanation runs together, while “This enables us” shifts tense from the past account. The final reference to “this solution” is understandable but slightly vague. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing, and vary linking expressions so the progression feels less formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the purpose and includes relevant terms such as “lyrics,” “front row,” “garbage bins,” and “maintain cleanliness.” These choices make the concert experience and your recommendation clear. You also attempt some more specific phrasing, though a few expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, including “feedback regards to,” “daily lifestyles,” and “a lot garbage.” “Over there” is repeated and is less suitable for a formal letter. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim for accurate collocations and a slightly wider range of formal, event-related vocabulary, checking that each phrase fits its context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and more complex forms, including the reason clause “because” implied in your explanation and the conditional “If there will any garbage bins available next time…”. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the letter. Examples include “One of the main reason” (singular/plural agreement), “He usually write” (subject–verb agreement), and “We had great time” (missing article). The conditional sentence also needs a complete, correctly formed clause, and “This enables us” does not maintain the past tense used in the surrounding account. Work on agreement, articles, and consistent tense, and punctuate longer sentences more carefully to improve control.
