make suggestions for improving next summer's concerts
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing with utmost gratitude for the recent free concerts organised this summer by the local council at the Bin Qasim Park.
I was so excited when I heard that Atif Aslam was going to perform on Saturday, 23rd July. I attended the concert with my friends and we sang along with him; additionally, free water bottles were provided by the staff.
I was impressed by how professionally the event was organised. My friends and I arrived late; as a result, we were standing at the end. However, the sound system was out of class, and we had no problem in hearing Atif Aslam amidst the crowd singing along with him.
One of the things that I would appreciate you to improve next summer's concert is the accesibility and convenience of the people with disability. There was no ramp available, and we experienced difficulties moving the wheelchair of my friend.
I hope to hear back from you and look forward to experience a positive development on this matter.
Yours faithfully,
Sara Hassan

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requirements clearly: you identify Atif Aslam’s performance on 23 July, explain your enjoyment through singing with friends and the effective sound system, and suggest adding wheelchair access. The accessibility point is particularly useful because you support it with a specific example about your friend. Your positive feedback is also relevant, although the reasons for enjoying the concert could be developed a little further—for instance, by explaining what made the performance memorable or how the atmosphere affected you. The improvement section focuses on one important issue; adding another practical suggestion, such as clearer seating or more accessible facilities, would make the feedback more fully developed. Overall, the purpose and position remain clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter is organised into clear paragraphs, moving from its purpose to the concert experience, event organisation, and a suggestion for next summer. This sequence makes the main points easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “additionally,” “as a result,” and “However” to connect details. At times, these links feel slightly mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely: “However” introduces the sound system’s quality, which is not really a contrast with arriving late and standing at the back. The final paragraph also shifts quickly from praise to the accessibility concern. A more direct transition and clearer links between the event details and your evaluation would make the progression smoother and more flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use a suitable range of vocabulary for a formal feedback letter, including “professionally,” “accessibility,” “convenience,” and “development.” The wording is generally clear, and the specific reference to a wheelchair makes the concern easy to understand. Some choices are less natural or precise, however: “out of class” does not convey that the sound system was excellent, and “I would appreciate you to improve” is an awkward expression. “Accesibility” is also misspelled, and “people with disability” would be more naturally phrased as “people with disabilities.” These issues do not prevent understanding, but more accurate collocations and careful spelling would make the letter sound more fluent and appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
The letter includes a useful mix of simple and more complex sentences. For example, “I was so excited when I heard that Atif Aslam was going to perform” combines a main clause with a subordinate clause, while “My friends and I arrived late; as a result, we were standing at the end” shows an attempt to connect related ideas. Most sentences communicate their meaning clearly. Some grammatical patterns need attention, particularly “I would appreciate you to improve,” where the verb pattern is incorrect; use “I would appreciate it if you could improve” instead. In the closing, “look forward to experience” should be “look forward to experiencing.” These are noticeable but local errors; checking verb patterns and forms after fixed expressions would improve accuracy.
