Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to tell you about my wonderful experience of the previous concert. I have enjoyed a lot with my friends and the food was perfectably delicious.
The concert was arranged in Lily Park and the singer was one of the famous singer named Atif Aslam. I have attended the concert with my friends in the last week of October and it was upto my expectations.
What i enjoyed most is the sitting arrangement for every person in the concert. Moreover, the variety of the food stalls and on top of that the live bbq was amazing. What's more, one thing i faced there was the shortage of stage lights.
I would recommend to increase the disco lights on the stage and improve the quality of sound systems.
I hope making these little changings will attract more audience and makes the concert more enjoyabkle in the coming summers.
I will be grateful for this consideration.
Yours Faithfully,
Fareah Aziz

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the concert at Lily Park featuring Atif Aslam, explain that you enjoyed the seating, food stalls and live barbecue, and suggest more stage lighting and better sound systems. The positive tone is appropriate for feedback to the council, and the suggestions are relevant. Some details are less fully developed, however: you could explain more specifically what made the performance enjoyable, and clarify the lighting problem—for example, whether it affected visibility or the atmosphere. The opening says “the previous concert,” which is less precise than naming it immediately. Adding a little explanation to each point would make the feedback more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a generally clear sequence: it introduces your experience, gives details about the concert, describes what you enjoyed, and ends with recommendations and a polite closing. Paragraph breaks help separate these functions, while “Moreover” and “What’s more” connect supporting details. At times, however, the progression feels list-like, and several ideas are packed together without explaining their relationship. For instance, the food stalls and live barbecue are added to the seating point, then the shortage of lights appears abruptly. Grouping the positive features in one paragraph and the problem and recommendations in another would make the organisation more deliberate. Use linking phrases selectively so that connections feel natural rather than formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “concert,” “sitting arrangement,” “food stalls,” “stage lights” and “sound systems,” so your meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “wonderful experience” and “live bbq.” However, several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems limit precision: “perfectably delicious,” “upto my expectations,” “little changings” and “more enjoyabkle” are inaccurate or misspelled. “Increase the disco lights” is also not the most natural way to describe the improvement. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “improve the stage lighting” and “make the concerts more enjoyable.” Proofreading would help you retain your ideas while expressing them more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You communicate the main points using a mix of simple sentences and some longer structures, including “I would recommend to increase…” and the sentence beginning “I hope…”. The overall message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “I have enjoyed a lot with my friends” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “the singer was one of the famous singer” has a number-agreement error. In “I hope making these little changings will attract more audience and makes…,” the clause structure and verb forms are not controlled consistently. There are also punctuation and capitalisation slips, such as lowercase “i” and “What's” in the middle of a sentence. Practise accurate verb patterns and parallel forms, then proofread sentence boundaries and capitals.
