Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I am writing to share a feedback regarding the concert which held in the local park last week.
There were many concerts which were lined up for that evening. The event had many artists which were there to perform at the event, there were famous singers from punjabi music industry and also had renowed stars from Haryanvi industry. I attend the haryanvi concert which was very nice.
As I am from Haryana so seeing haryanvi industry getting recognised makes me very happy. The music was also very enjoyable. The singers also came in the audience to dance with us. The most special moment was when I was called on the stage by one of the singers. Food stalls were also present and it had food from different states.
There is one suggestions which need to be kept in mind while planning the future concerts, the sitting arrangement should be more and should be comfortable.
I hope the suggestion will be taken in consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Aaryat

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the Haryanvi concert, explain your enjoyment through your connection to Haryana and the singers’ interaction with the audience, and suggest improving the seating. The personal detail about being invited on stage makes the positive feedback specific and engaging. This is a relevant, complete response, although some points are developed more fully than others: the reasons for enjoying the concert are illustrated with several details, while the seating suggestion is brief and does not explain what changes would help, such as adding seats or improving their comfort. To strengthen the letter further, make that recommendation more precise and include a short concluding comment on the overall value of the concerts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall progression: it introduces the purpose, describes the concert and your enjoyment, then gives a recommendation and closes politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main stages, and the reader can follow the account without difficulty. Some connections are less controlled, however. The second paragraph repeats “event” and combines several details in a long sentence, while “There is one suggestions” introduces the final point awkwardly. The shift from the concert description to the recommendation could also be smoother. Use clearer links such as “One area for improvement is…” and divide the list of performers into more manageable sentences. These changes would make the organisation feel more consistently logical and less dependent on basic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the concert experience, including “recognised,” “audience,” “perform,” and “sitting arrangement.” The personal and event-related vocabulary is relevant, but the range is limited and several choices or collocations sound unnatural, which keeps the expression from being consistently precise. For example, “share a feedback” is not idiomatic, “renowed stars” is misspelled, and “the sitting arrangement should be more” does not clearly express the intended improvement. Repetition of “event” and “concert” also limits variety. Aim to learn common combinations such as “provide feedback,” “seating arrangements,” and “a wider range of seating,” and check spelling carefully. More accurate collocations would make your meaning clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message remains understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur often enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “the concert which held” needs a passive form (“which was held”), and “I attend” should be “I attended.” In “There is one suggestions,” the singular subject does not agree with the plural noun; “There is one suggestion” would be correct. The sentence beginning “The event had many artists…” also joins several clauses without clear control. Practise accurate past-tense narration and agreement, and break long sentences into shorter units. This will help you show a wider range while maintaining clearer grammatical control.
