Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am sharing my feedback in response to the free concerts, which was organised in a park near by my house in April.

There were plethora of music and dance concerts held in a park. Being a music lover, I decided to attend music festival, which was quite worth decision for me.

I have been loving melodious and soothing songs since my childhood. As, they provide relaxation to my mind and soul. In additon to that, I love watching artists singing live because it is a life time experience to have. I was thrilled to see my favourite singers performing in a stage, which is one of the significant factor I enjoyed the concert.

Although, it was well executed, I feel there were some areas of improvement. I would like to suggest that there must be enough organized seat planning for senior citizens, as some of them were struggling to watch the show. Secondly, I would be grateful if you arrange limited tickets, which will decrease the crowd.

I hope you will look after this suggestions. Thank you for your kind consideration.

Yours sincerely,

Yasha

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you identify the event as a music festival, explain that you enjoy soothing music and live performances, and suggest seating for older people and limiting ticket numbers. These ideas are relevant and your positive response is clear. However, some parts are less fully developed than others. The concert is not identified precisely—for example, you do not name the performer or describe the specific concert—and the reasons for enjoying it remain fairly general. Your suggestions would be stronger with a brief explanation of how the council could organise accessible seating or manage attendance. Overall, the letter fulfils the task, but more specific supporting detail would make the feedback more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it introduces the feedback, describes your enjoyment, then moves to suggestions and closes politely. The sequence is easy to follow, and phrases such as “In addition to that” and “Secondly” help signal relationships between ideas. This meets the expected standard for coherent organisation. Some linking is mechanical or awkward, however: “Although, it was well executed” does not connect smoothly to the preceding paragraph, and “As, they provide relaxation” is an incomplete sentence rather than a clear continuation. The opening paragraph also combines several points without a particularly clear focus. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each reason or suggestion directly to the point before it; this would make progression more natural and cohesion less noticeable.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for the topic, including “melodious,” “soothing,” “thrilled,” and “significant factor,” and the reader can understand your main points. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “a life time experience.” Some choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, though: “worth decision,” “in a stage,” and “organized seat planning” do not express your meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “additon” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, conventional phrases rather than translating expressions directly; for example, describe the concert as “worthwhile,” say performers were “on stage,” and refer to “seating arrangements.” This would improve clarity while retaining your positive tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including a relative clause in “artists singing live because it is a life time experience” and a conditional-style request beginning “I would be grateful if…”. The message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the letter. For example, “concerts, which was organised” has a plural-subject agreement problem, while “As, they provide relaxation…” is a sentence fragment. Articles and number are also inconsistent in “one of the significant factor,” and punctuation after “Although” and “As” is misplaced. Review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, and check each clause has a complete main verb. More accurate control of these structures would strengthen the letter without requiring more complicated sentences.
