Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear sir / madam,
I hope this letter finds you in radiant health and the best of spirits. The purpose of this letter is to give you the review of one of the concert I attended in this summer. Over all it was really good experience.
I attended concert at the local park in the evening it was a music concert. There were so many peoples gather, I personally like music events specially in nature. Park is located in the center of the city so the crowd was but of course, so I enjoyed it because of the crowd only. Of course the song collection was outstanding, The lines of one of my favorite song it is on my mind all the time after the concert .
Farther more , it was relaxing experience , But I noticed one of the speaker was not working at the time so many people can not listen it properly. My concern is that to check once before the concert.
It was mesmerizing experience of one of the events .
Yours Faithfully

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the event as a music concert in the local park and give relevant reasons for enjoying it, including the song selection, the natural setting and the lively crowd. You also mention a practical improvement: checking the speakers before the performance. However, the concert is not identified specifically, and the reasons for your enjoyment are not always clear—for example, “I enjoyed it because of the crowd only” conflicts with your other positive comments. The suggestion is brief and does not explain how the council could ensure the equipment works. The closing repeats that the event was enjoyable rather than adding useful feedback. Develop each point more clearly and make the improvement suggestion more specific.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable opening, several paragraphs and a closing, and its main ideas are generally relevant to the council’s request. The progression from introducing the concert to describing your experience and then raising an equipment issue is understandable. However, links between ideas are sometimes unclear: the sentence about the park’s central location and the crowd does not explain how these details connect to your enjoyment. Connectors such as “Of course” and “Farther more” are awkward or repetitive, and the final paragraph repeats the positive evaluation without advancing the message. Use clearer paragraph purposes and link each reason to its effect on your experience.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including “song collection,” “speaker,” “crowd” and “mesmerizing,” and you attempt a more formal tone with phrases such as “The purpose of this letter.” Some less common choices are not used naturally, however: “radiant health and the best of spirits” is overly elaborate for this feedback letter, while “the review of one of the concert” and “Farther more” are inaccurate expressions. There are also spelling and word-form issues, including “peoples” and “specially.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the main message, but more natural collocations and consistent spelling would make the letter more precise and appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, but control is uneven, and errors occur in basic sentence construction as well as in more complex attempts. For example, “There were so many peoples gather” has problems with the verb form and plural agreement, while “I attended concert at the local park in the evening it was a music concert” joins two clauses without suitable punctuation. Articles and agreement also need attention in “one of the concert” and “one of my favorite song.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “The lines” after a comma and the spaces before commas and full stops. Practise accurate sentence boundaries, articles and plural forms before adding more complex structures.
