Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am writing a letter to give a feedback of the concert organized by council in our local park. There were five free concerts took place last month. I jioned the Rock music concert.
I enjoyed the concert a lot. This was the first time, the local council organised a series of free concerts in our neighbourhood. The main attraction of the event was the loaction. It was just adjascent to the parking lot. Consequently, it was easier to get an access to the concert. In addition to this, the sound quality of sound system was amazing.
Nevertheless, there were some discrepancies which could be filled. There were not enough mobile toilets were arranged. Due to that reason, it was often observed that the spectators were rushing to the nearest shopping mall and gas stations. Furthermore, there was no proper signages were spotted to direct the audience. People were inquiring with each another.
I hope you you would pay attention into this matter and may improving next summer's concerts by facilitate spectators with extra mobile toilets and proper sign boards.
Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Yours sincerely.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the rock concert, explain that you enjoyed its location and sound system, and suggest more portable toilets and clearer signs. These details make the letter relevant and its purpose clear. The enjoyment is supported with specific reasons, but the improvement suggestions are less fully developed: for example, you could explain how additional toilets or signs would improve the audience’s experience, or suggest where signs should be placed. The opening and closing are appropriate for a formal letter. To strengthen the response further, develop each suggestion with a brief explanation and make the feedback more precise, rather than relying on general requests.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph about what you enjoyed, a paragraph describing problems and suggestions, and a polite closing. Connectors such as “In addition to this,” “Nevertheless,” and “Furthermore” help show the relationship between points, and the progression is easy to follow. Some linking is less natural or clear, however. “There were five free concerts took place” combines structures awkwardly, while “Due to that reason” is a mechanical link. The final paragraph also combines the request and closing in a way that makes the sentence difficult to follow. Use simpler, accurate transitions and separate the request from the closing to make the organisation smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including relevant terms such as “sound quality,” “spectators,” and “signages.” There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “Consequently” and “Should you have any questions.” However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors reduce precision: “give a feedback,” “discrepancies which could be filled,” and “proper signages” are not natural in this context. “Jioned,” “loaction,” and “adjascent” also show inaccurate spelling. Aim for conventional phrases such as “provide feedback,” “issues that could be addressed,” and “clear signs.” More accurate, natural combinations would make your vocabulary more effective and flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including “Consequently, it was easier…” and “Should you have any questions…,” and the main message remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, and articles. For example, “There were five free concerts took place” incorrectly combines two clause patterns; “There were not enough mobile toilets were arranged” repeats the verb structure; and “I hope you you would pay attention” repeats the subject and uses an awkward verb pattern. There are also punctuation and spacing issues, such as the missing space after “park.” Practise forming clauses with one main verb pattern, and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during revision.
