Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally provide you the feedback for the free concerts which you organised in our local park.
As you organised series of concerts but my favorite one was "How to get rid from pollution" which was done by the famous singer Diljit Dosanjh and he presented the script totally in perfect way. The concert was held on 8 December and many schools were also closed because of government holiday.
Furthermore, Diljit is my favorite singer and he is also known as rising star. He always perform on stage and make people understand the actual value if life, he do this by converting words into chorus.
Moreover, I will suggest you to organise same type of concert next year, because youngster's develop their skills in this and may be it will help them to do best in future.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Tarun

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the concert as “How to get rid from pollution” and explain that you enjoyed it because Diljit Dosanjh is your favourite singer and communicates a message through music. You also make a relevant suggestion to repeat this kind of concert next summer. However, the feedback is only partly developed: the reason for your enjoyment is not clearly connected to specific features of the performance, and the suggestion about helping young people is vague. The date and school closures do not explain your response to the concert and may distract from the requested feedback. Develop each point with a concrete detail, such as the music, atmosphere, or a practical improvement to facilities or scheduling.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening purpose, details about the concert, your reasons for enjoying it, a suggestion, and a closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish these points, and connectors such as “Furthermore” and “Moreover” show the intended progression. However, the transitions sometimes feel mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, the sentence about schools being closed follows the concert date but does not explain why that mattered to your experience. The phrase “he do this by converting words into chorus” also leaves the reference and meaning unclear. Use fewer formulaic connectors and link each detail directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some task-appropriate vocabulary, including “formally provide,” “rising star,” “organise,” and “develop their skills,” and the reader can generally understand your message. There are also attempts to describe the concert’s purpose and the singer’s performance. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “get rid from pollution,” “presented the script,” and “converting words into chorus.” “Favorite” is understandable, but a more precise description of what you liked would strengthen the feedback. Aim for natural phrases such as “a concert about reducing pollution” and “performed the songs with energy.” Check word forms and possessives, including “youngsters’,” to make your meaning more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “As you organised series of concerts” and a reason clause with “because.” The overall message remains understandable, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction reduce accuracy. For example, “He always perform” and “he do this” need third-person singular forms, while “many schools were also closed” does not clearly refer to students or school closures. The long sentence beginning “He always perform on stage” joins several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and divide linked ideas into complete sentences. This will make your explanations easier to follow while retaining some complex structures.
