You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to appreciate the concerts series that recently organised by the local council.

I would like to inform you that I have attented the concert by Malik Zair. He is my childhood favourite singer, I have never expected that local council can afford him for a concert. I have enjoyed his singing and song always.

I enjoyed this concert beacuse of music, seating and food shops were well organized. Most necessary was handling crowd, while paragluide security handled properly.

There is a few suggestions that will improve the next summer's concerts, such as proper information like date, time and venue should be printed for residents. I have witnessed many people were having difficulty in reaching their booked areas, therefore there were hustle and bustle on road due to lack prior and proper details.

I am hoping you would like to adopt some measure to resolve these issues for next summer's concerts. Otherwise, event was well organzied.

Best regards

Jaspreet Kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you identify Malik Zair’s concert, explain that you enjoyed the music, seating and food stalls, and suggest giving residents clearer event details. The praise is relevant, and the access problem gives your suggestion a practical reason. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, “I have enjoyed his singing and song always” does not explain what made this performance especially enjoyable, while the improvement suggestion focuses mainly on dates, times and venues. Clarify what information should be provided and how it could help people reach their booked areas. A more formal opening and a clearer, specific request to the council would also make the letter’s purpose more effective.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens with its purpose, moves to the concert and reasons for enjoying it, then presents a suggestion and closes politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and links such as “therefore” show a relationship between the access problem and the proposed improvement. This already gives the reader a clear progression. Some connections are less smooth, however: “Most necessary was handling crowd” introduces a point abruptly, and “Otherwise, event was well organized” does not clearly contrast with the problems described. Use clearer transitions and refer explicitly to the issue—for example, explain that despite the positive organisation, advance information could improve access. This would make cohesion more flexible and less dependent on simple linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for the letter, including relevant terms such as “local council,” “concert,” “residents,” “booked areas” and “prior details.” These help communicate the event and the access concern. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “hustle and bustle,” though this phrase is not quite suitable for describing difficulty caused by missing information. Several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “attented,” “beacuse,” “organzi ed” and “paragluide security”; the last expression is unclear to the reader. Aim for accurate, natural collocations, such as “crowd management” and “food stalls,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary for the proposed improvements would help you express the concern clearly and professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “I enjoyed this concert because…” and a result clause beginning “therefore.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “concerts series that recently organised” needs a plural form and a passive construction (“concert series that was recently organised”), while “There is a few suggestions” has subject–verb disagreement. The sentence joining “He is my childhood favourite singer” and “I have never expected…” also needs clearer punctuation or a conjunction. Review articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries, and practise combining ideas accurately. This would make your varied attempts more consistently controlled.
