Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: benefits for employees and advantages for companies. The ideas are relevant, such as cultural exposure and cost-efficiency. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'financial benefits' and 'wages in developing countries' is a bit underdeveloped and could have been explained with more nuance regarding global talent mobility. The position is clear throughout, but the essay would benefit from more specific examples or deeper analysis to move beyond a general level. Overall, it meets the requirements of the task but lacks the depth required for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Lastly', and 'Conversely', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though there are minor issues with pronoun usage, such as 'one has opportunity... while other can reduce'. The progression of ideas is logical, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural, sophisticated structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'eliminate new hiring process' and 'massive way', but these are not always used with precision. Some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'massive way' or 'take such initiative'. There are no major spelling errors, but the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on fairly standard phrasing that prevents the essay from demonstrating a more sophisticated or flexible command of English.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many company allows', 'companies does not have to', 'employee who get') and article usage (e.g., 'Due to convenient transportation system'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To reach a higher band, the student needs to focus on consistent control of basic grammar, particularly pluralization and subject-verb agreement, and increase the variety of complex structures used.
