Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing benefits for employees and companies. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of the arguments provided. The ideas are presented but lack sufficient development or detailed explanation. For instance, the mention of 'communication skills' is a good starting point, but it is not expanded upon with specific examples or logical consequences. The reliance on vague statistics (e.g., '68% people') also weakens the quality of the support. To improve, you must expand your paragraphs with more detailed analysis and ensure you meet the minimum word count to allow for a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices, such as 'On the one hand' and 'The second thing is that'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transitions feel repetitive. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall progression of ideas is somewhat simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that is logically connected to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'get success', 'do job', and 'good for' are used frequently, which limits the range. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'outer countries' instead of 'foreign countries' or 'abroad'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or precise vocabulary prevents a higher score. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to business and international employment to improve your lexical range and precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the news was released by public news paper'), subject-verb agreement ('everyone want'), and preposition usage ('went in another countries'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs agree with their subjects and that articles are used correctly before nouns.
