Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address all parts of the prompt by discussing why living and working abroad is beneficial for employees and what advantages it brings to companies. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and the thesis statement in the introduction fails to accurately reflect the prompt, asking whether it has 'a positive or negative impact' rather than outlining the specific reasons and advantages requested. Furthermore, the final paragraph introduces a brief conditional thought about family living rather than a robust summary. While the core ideas are relevant, they tend to be under-developed and generalisations are broad. For instance, the mention that companies provide 'much more high salaries' lacks specific supporting context. Therefore, this performance aligns closely with Band 5 descriptors where the task is addressed, but certain parts and ideas remain under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some basic organisational structure with discernible introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs, and paragraphing is attempted. However, the overall progression is disjointed. Cohesive devices are frequently inaccurate, repetitive, or poorly deployed, such as the abrupt transitions ('Many organizations who has...', 'On the other hand...', 'In conclusion, Migrating in...'). Referencing is also confusing at times, for example, the shift between what companies and employees do without clear cohesive links. Furthermore, the mechanical repetition of words like 'companies' and 'employees' creates a choppy flow that impedes smooth reading. Overall, the structural arrangement lacks a clear, logical progression throughout, placing it firmly at Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, relying heavily on basic, repetitive terms such as 'companies', 'employees', and 'success'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices that can cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'congitive employees' (likely meaning cognitive or competent), 'much more high salaries', and 'disadavantages'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary often result in unnatural collocations or inaccurate forms, like 'robust career' or 'explor new culture'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey a basic message, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent enough to restrict the score to Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('employees are give', 'organizations who has', 'companies only provides'), missing prepositions, and incorrect verb tenses ('This essay will discusss about it has...'). Sentence structures are often faulty when attempting complexity, leading to fragmented or run-on ideas like 'Many organizations who has a wider range of branches around the world and they want to see...'. Punctuation is also erratic. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader in parsing meaning, this meets the criteria for Band 5.
