Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why the opportunity is beneficial for employees and the advantages it brings to companies. The student successfully presents relevant ideas, such as enhanced communication skills and broadened experience for workers, alongside improved business strategies and advanced management techniques for companies. However, some ideas are repetitive and underdeveloped. For example, the points regarding building relationships and generating revenue are restated multiple times without sufficient extension. While the position is clear throughout, the development of examples tends to be slightly anecdotal rather than fully elaborated. Consequently, the response aligns best with Band 6, as all parts of the task are addressed, but certain aspects lack depth and robust support.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate ideas, though the internal structure of paragraphs often lacks clear progression. Sentences can be run-on and ideas are joined by basic cohesive devices rather than smooth transitions. For instance, the transition 'Another key point is, When the campnies staff work...' creates an awkward and mechanical flow. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the sudden shift to pronouns without proper antecedents. Although logical organisation is present, the frequent misuse of cohesive devices and clunky sentence boundaries place this performance firmly at Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student displays an adequate vocabulary range to communicate ideas about international work environments, using terms like 'multinational corporation', 'revenue', and 'management techniques'. However, there are numerous noticeable errors in word choice and spelling throughout the text, such as 'employess', 'extreamily', 'campnies', and 'sucessfull'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, but inaccurate collocations and incorrect forms occur frequently, such as 'become more smart' or 'reduce more risk'. These limitations cause some minor difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 5.0 descriptor where vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task but marred by frequent lexical and spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('multinational corporation give'), tense consistency, and punctuation. Many sentences are overly long run-on sentences lacking appropriate punctuation, such as the lengthy third sentence in the second body paragraph. Additionally, articles and prepositions are frequently missing or misused. While meaning is generally recoverable, the high frequency of grammatical errors prevents the writing from achieving a higher band. The performance reflects Band 5.0, where simple structures are handled with some success, but attempts at complex structures are often faulty.
