Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring why the international working opportunity is good for employees and what advantages it brings to companies. The writer puts forward relevant ideas, such as employees gaining new skills, improving communication, and learning foreign cultures, while companies benefit through better international business and increased productivity. However, the development of these ideas is frequently hindered by lack of clarity, underdeveloped explanations, and repetitive phrasing. For instance, the discussion of the Canadian and Japanese companies is muddled and lacks precise examples. The position is clear, but the ideas tend to be over-generalized and insufficiently extended, placing this response squarely at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into paragraphs with an introduction, body paragraphs for each prompt part, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is disrupted by mechanical and inadequate use of cohesive devices, such as 'To elobrate it more', 'First and foremost', and 'On the other hand'. Referencing is frequently unclear, and pronoun use fails to establish a smooth flow between sentences. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical links within paragraphs are weak, causing the reader some difficulty in following the line of argument. This corresponds to a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with noticeable errors that occasionally impede communication or cause strain for the reader. Words are frequently used in the wrong word class or with incorrect collocations, such as 'benefit for companies which are elobrate in upcoming parargraphs', 'Japan nation', and 'business will growth by apply this information'. Spelling errors are frequent ('elobrate', 'parargraphs', 'compaines', 'emplyoess', 'leran', 'Consquently', 'comapnies'). While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary like 'preponderant' and 'import and export', the frequent inaccuracies and basic nature of the lexical choices limit the score to Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex structures. Frequent errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions are evident throughout the text, for example: 'most of the international companies get chance to their employees', 'employees get opportunity to do work or live', and 'if emplyoess get chance to do work in Japan they leran culture'. These persistent errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and mean that error-free sentences are rare, aligning the grammar with the Band 4.0 descriptors.
