Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both why the opportunity is beneficial for employees and the advantages it brings to companies. The student presents relevant ideas, such as career development and global expansion. However, some of these ideas are somewhat under-developed and lack extension. For instance, the point regarding new technological gadgets in foreign countries is slightly vague and not fully connected to the main argument. The position is generally clear throughout, but the development of examples tends to be repetitive and lacks depth. Overall, the performance satisfies the requirements for Band 6.0 as all parts of the prompt are addressed, though with limited elaboration in places.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is structured into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing employees and companies respectively, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate main ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To begin with', 'Firstly', and 'To conclude', but they are sometimes mechanical or overused ('To explain it', 'This means that'). Logical progression is occasionally disrupted by awkward transitions and repetitive phrasing between sentences. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'it' and 'he'. These features align closely with Band 5.0, where organisation is present, but overall progression and cohesion show significant limitations.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate basic ideas about careers and business growth. However, the vocabulary is often repetitive and basic ('a lot of experience', 'many benefits', 'good opportunity'). There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'Thesedays' instead of 'These days', 'stratagies' instead of 'strategies', and incorrect verb forms ('a company can introduced'). Less common vocabulary is attempted with some inaccuracy. These characteristics reflect a Band 5.0 performance, where the range of vocabulary is limited and noticeable errors occur, though meaning is generally discernible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors in article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions (e.g., 'most of the international companies give a chance', 'working in other company', 'has plenty of benefits to company'). Punctuation errors, such as spaces placed before commas and full stops, are also persistent throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the writing from achieving a higher band. This performance corresponds well to Band 5.0.
