Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both why the opportunity is good for employees and what advantages companies gain. The ideas are relevant and generally supported with examples, such as the mention of a university professor and Microsoft's performance data. However, some of the ideas feel a bit under-developed and rely on general assertions rather than deep elaboration. For instance, the discussion on how working abroad improves task response or client retention is introduced but lacks comprehensive explanation. Overall, the prompt is adequately covered, placing this response firmly in Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct points, such as employee benefits versus company advantages. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like 'Furthermore' and 'Moreover' are used, but referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences can feel disjointed. For example, the transition between discussing the Microsoft example and moving on to company advantages lacks smooth integration. These structural limitations place the response at Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with some attempts to incorporate less common items and topic-specific terminology such as 'corporate sector', 'client retention', and 'collaborations'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and spelling throughout the text. For example, 'enviornment' is misspelled, 'uncountable benefits' should be 'innumerable' or 'countless', and 'task responace' contains a spelling and word choice error. While communication is not impeded, these recurring vocabulary and spelling inaccuracies restrict the score to Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional and participial clauses like 'By working in a new team and environment employees can enhance their skills'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('the employee who get', 'the microsoft release', 'employees that got chance'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('there is a new trend emerged', 'loyalty with the company'). These errors occasionally cause some strain for the reader, though they rarely prevent overall comprehension. This balance of mixed structures and frequent errors corresponds to a Band 5.5.
