Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task directly, discussing both why the opportunity is beneficial for employees (exploring new places and learning cultures) and the advantages for companies (global presence and client access). A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. The ideas are supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of Suzuki India and HCL. However, some of the elaboration in the first body paragraph becomes slightly repetitive regarding the idea of exploring tourist sites. Overall, the task is successfully fulfilled with appropriate development, placing the response comfortably within the Band 6.5 to 7.0 range for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different prompt questions. Cohesive devices are employed to signal transitions, such as 'To commence with', 'In addition to this', and 'To recapitulate'. However, some of the cohesive referencing and sentence-to-sentence connections feel a bit mechanical. There is also occasional awkward repetition of phrases in the transitional sentences. Progression is generally clear, though minor improvements in logical flow between sentences would elevate this to a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'multinational organisations', 'global recognition', and 'humongous profits'. However, there are several noticeable spelling errors throughout the response, including 'difference' instead of 'different', 'acces' instead of 'access', 'opprotunity' instead of 'opportunity', 'desinations' instead of 'destinations', 'clutural' instead of 'cultural', 'cusines' instead of 'cuisines', 'habbits' instead of 'habits', 'advantagoes' instead of 'advantageous', and 'clinets' instead of 'clients'. While these spelling slips do not impede communication, their frequency prevents the lexical score from reaching Band 7.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures successfully (e.g., 'since employees who work from different countries have access to new tourist destinations...'). There are some good error-free sentences, but grammatical accuracy is somewhat inconsistent. Errors include minor punctuation issues and preposition choices, such as 'working from a different country' instead of 'working in', and 'rewards their employees' (subject-verb agreement mismatch with 'they make'). Nevertheless, communication is never impeded, and the grammatical control is solid for a Band 6.
