Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task fully, considering both why the opportunity is good for employees and what advantages it brings to companies. The writer establishes a clear position and supports it with relevant arguments and examples, such as the Canadian employee learning production methods in Germany and an organization preparing managers for international roles. Ideas are well-extended throughout the body paragraphs. Although there are some minor linguistic slips in framing the introduction, the main tasks are thoroughly explored, aligning well with the Band 7 level descriptors where all parts are addressed and ideas are extended and supported.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay displays a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. The response is divided into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two distinct body paragraphs tackling the separate prompt questions, and a clear conclusion. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, such as "To commence with", "In addition", and "Firstly", though some transitional phrasing is slightly clumsy or mechanical, such as "This arrangements can also provide significant benefits are companies". Referencing is generally clear, and paragraphing is used appropriately to guide the reader through the distinct arguments, fitting the Band 6 to 7 profile.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate and fairly wide range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as "multinational businesses", "cross-cultural communication", and "mutually beneficial". However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as "an increasingly opportunity has fundamental play", "employess" (repeated spelling error), "culture awareness" instead of cultural awareness, and "broaden international expertise". Despite these inaccuracies, communication is not impeded, and the vocabulary remains minimally sufficient for a Band 6 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical and mechanical errors throughout the essay. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ("This arrangements can also provide significant benefits are companies"), article misuse ("spend the more time"), and awkward phrasing ("this development can be highly beneficial for employess and the advantages of companies"). While the meaning remains clear and communication is not impeded, these persistent errors prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 7.
