Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both why the opportunity is good for employees and what advantages it brings to companies. The writer takes a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Ideas are generally relevant, covering personal development, cultural exposure, and productivity improvements for companies. However, some arguments lack full extension and contain slight generalisations. For instance, the point about company productivity is introduced but not deeply elaborated with a specific company-focused example. Nevertheless, the prompt is sufficiently covered, aligning well with the Band 6 or Band 7 descriptors. A band score of 6.5 reflects the complete coverage of all prompt requirements despite some under-developed ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response demonstrates a clear overall progression with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as employee benefits and cultural learning. However, there are noticeable issues with cohesion and sentence linking. For example, in the first paragraph, the sentence 'This trend offers several advantages in terms of employees personal and professional development, it also certain disadvantages' creates a comma splice. Furthermore, cohesive devices are sometimes repetitive or mechanically used, as seen with repeated starting phrases and referencing errors like 'this is particularly beneficial' where the precise antecedent is slightly loose. Progression is maintained, earning a solid Band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, with attempts to incorporate less common items such as 'multinational companies', 'professional development', and 'open-minded'. However, there are several word choice and collocation errors, such as 'an another country', 'working in an foreign based company', and 'learb how company operate', as well as spelling mistakes ('learb' instead of 'learn', 'employees personal' missing apostrophes). These inaccuracies do not impede overall communication, but they restrict the lexical score. The range is sufficient for basic flexibility, fitting the Band 6 descriptor well.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and punctuation, including comma splices and missing subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'working in a new environment allow employees', 'This issues can be addressed'). While the meaning remains clear and communication is rarely impeded, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors prevents the score from reaching Band 6.5 or 7.0. The control of grammar aligns best with Band 6.
