Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent days, a large number of multinational companies offer their employee an opportuinity to spend their a period of time in living and work there for sometime in foreign country because employer wants to make their workers happy for providing international tour, and make them also to learn new skills and ideas about how foreigner people works which will help in the future to the company.

To begin with, this is the best opportunity for an employee as an individual will get a chance to learn new things as well as free tour of international which many employee cannot afford. For example, it is financially difficult to an employee to go abroad and learn new skills with their own money as they do not have enough savings to do this. Moreover, if an worker get a chance to spend their most valuable time in another nation funded by company where an individual can gain good knowledge which will help him for his career growth as well as business growth . So, I believe this is great opportunity to an employee to learn some useful skills.

Furthermore, the company will have numerous benefits for their development. Firstly, he will make his employee happy by offering this opportunity, and an individual will give his hundred percent effort to work and learn new skills as he will think that company has respect his hardwork and believe on him so that he will do best for the company. For instance, in any business there will be high growth, if the company has quality and happy worker. In addition, an employer get chance to train his own employee by sending outside the countries so that he will get good output.

To conclude, Multinantional companies should provide an opportunity to the employee for their own as well as company growth because after learning skills from outside of countries an individual will contribute to their own employer.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both why the opportunity is good for employees and what advantages it brings to companies. The writer presents a clear position throughout the essay. Ideas are extended with some supporting examples, such as mentioning the financial difficulty of international travel and the connection between happy workers and business growth. However, some ideas tend to generalise or are slightly repetitive, particularly in the conclusion and body paragraphs. Overall, the prompt is adequately covered, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay presents a clear overall arrangement with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. The writer relies heavily on basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude'. Referencing is not always clear, as seen with confusing pronoun shifts in the third paragraph ('Firstly, he will make his employee happy...'). There are also run-on sentences that make the logical progression bumpy in places. This reflects the characteristics of Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'multinational companies' and 'career growth'. However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors throughout, such as 'free tour of international', 'if an worker', and 'foreigner people works'. Spelling errors also appear, including 'Multinantional'. While communication remains understandable, the frequent lexical inaccuracies and limited control over word formation restrict the score to a Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty, leading to very long, convoluted sentences that lack grammatical control. Examples include '...because employer wants to make their workers happy for providing international tour, and make them also to learn new skills...'. Grammatical errors are frequent, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('an worker', 'employer get chance'), articles, and prepositions ('in living and work there for sometime in foreign country'). These errors sometimes cause difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar firmly at Band 5.
