Student answer (Band 6.5)
IT IS COMMON TO SEE THAT MANY COMPANIES ALLOW THEIR EMPLOYEES TO TAKE SHORT TRIPS OVERSEAS EITHER FOR WORK OR FOR LEISURE. This trend benefits workers and organisations, as travellers explore a destination and organisations build a reputation and attract talent to the workplace.
The main advantage for employees is that they do not need to take a special trip to visit foreign countries, where they have to spend from their own pocket. In other words, if people plan personally, they should have savings for such visits because they have to book accommodations, tickets, and visit tourist places. However, while a business provides them with opportunities, they not only save money but also enjoy a stress-free experience by exploring and learning new things for themselves and for the company. Therefore, it proves to be a wonderful chance for workers.
Despite having benefits for travellers, it can be worth it for the entrepreneurs too. Since offering international travel always allure to skilled and talented workforce, people desire to crack an employment that comes with extra activities such as overseas trips and bonuses, along with responsibilities and lucrative income, which makes it a satisfying workplace for them. Moreover, when employees live in other countries, they will learn new strategies and ways to compete with the latest market trends, which would be helpful for the organisation to reach its targets easily and build a strong customer base by offering unique and innovative products and services. For example, many clothing companies in India follow this method and are successful in meeting clients' demands, especially young generations, because they tend to follow foreign fashion due to social media influences.
In conclusion, promoting international visits can be beneficial for workers as well as companies in terms of experience, knowledge, and financial stability, and for hiring skilled people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task. The student considers why the opportunity might be good for employees by focusing on financial savings and stress-free exploration. Furthermore, the advantages for companies are clearly articulated through the lens of talent attraction, workforce motivation, and market competitiveness. A relevant example regarding clothing companies in India is provided to support the discussion. The position is clear throughout, and the ideas are extended and supported adequately, meeting the requirements for a Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay presents a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Information and ideas are coherently structured, starting with an introduction that paraphrases the prompt, followed by well-defined body paragraphs and a concluding summary. Cohesive devices such as 'In other words', 'However', 'Moreover', and 'For example' are used adequately to guide the reader, although some transitions could be smoother. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, keeping the logical flow intact, which aligns with Band 7 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
The student demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary with some flexibility and precision, using less common items such as 'entrepreneurs', 'lucrative income', and 'innovative products'. However, there are a few awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'allure to skilled and talented workforce' (should be 'allures a skilled and talented workforce') and 'crack an employment' (should be 'secure a job'). Spelling is generally accurate, and vocabulary errors do not impede communication, placing the response firmly at Band 6.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating control over relative clauses and conditional structures. There are several good error-free sentences, such as 'When employees live in other countries, they will learn new strategies...'. However, grammatical inaccuracies persist, including tense inconsistencies and preposition errors, such as 'spend from their own pocket' (instead of 'out of their own pockets') and 'allure to'. These errors rarely impede communication, reflecting the characteristics of a Band 6.0 performance.
