Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why the opportunity is good for employees and the advantages it brings to companies. The writer has a clear stance throughout the essay. However, some ideas are repetitive and under-developed, particularly in the second body paragraph where the points regarding profits and loyalty are reiterated without deep extension. For instance, stating that companies reap benefits such as 'more profits and loyal customers' is slightly confused since the prompt refers to internal employees rather than external customers. While all requirements are covered, the depth of task response aligns best with Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is generally coherent with a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, employee benefits, company benefits, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude', which guide the reader through the text. However, referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as the pronoun use in 'those are working worldwide' and some mechanical transitions. While the logical arrangement is clear, the occasional faulty referencing and repetitive mechanical links prevent a higher score, placing it firmly at Band 6.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'rejuvenate', 'job satisfaction', and 'crucial role'. However, there are notable word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'company earns more outcome' instead of profit or revenue, and 'travel another country' omitting the preposition 'to'. The writer also confuses 'employers' and 'employees' in the conclusion ('employer got satisfied employees'), which impacts precision. The lexical range is sufficient for the basic communication of ideas, but the frequency of inaccuracies limits the score to Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, with attempts at conditional structures ('If employees get something entertaining...'). There are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'workplaces those are working', 'company plan an international business trip' (subject-verb agreement), and missing prepositions ('travel another country'). Punctuation and phrasing errors occasionally cause minor strain for the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. These frequent errors across a limited structural range place the grammar score at Band 5.5.
