Student answer (Band 6.0)

During the last 6 decades, a large number of organizations are sending the most qualified and talented people to work in another country for a specific period of time. In my opinion, this is a good opportunity for employees who are open to experience life and have passion towards their work. The advantages that companies may benefit from sending employees to abroad are better market expansion and client relationships.

This might be a good opportunity for people who are passionate towards their work and wanted to learn more related to their technology. The zeal of a person to learn and contribute to their project effectively opens many doors in abroad as they work with highly skilled people. Inaddition, they can also experience life by communicating with people from various countries, freedom to travel, leading a luxury life style and tasting a large variety of international cuisines etc. Therefore this can help the person to grow personally and professionally after moving abroad. For example, wide range of people from india come to USA on H1-B visa where they not only delivers more output to their work but also lead a decent life style.

One of the benefit that companies can acquire are improved client relationships. An employee visiting the client might build the trust of the client which leads to a better relationships between the client and employer. This leads to a long-term commitment and sometimes may land in receiving a new project. For example, a lot of managers from india who works in MNC's go abroad and visit their client will come back with a new exciting project. Furthermore, the company earns larger revenues when compared to earlier and secure a better market expansion.

In conclusion, in the recent years many international companies are sending people abroad. This benefits both the employee and the company. Employee is benefitted by learning new things when working with the highly educated people and have exposure to various activities in abroad. Companies get benefitted from increase in their market values and a better client- vendor relationships. Therefore both companies and employees are benefitting in this scenario.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task, examining both employee benefits such as professional growth and lifestyle opportunities, and company advantages like market expansion and improved client relationships. The position is clear throughout the essay. However, while some ideas are well supported with examples, such as the mention of H1-B visa holders, others remain somewhat under-developed or rely on generalisations, such as the brief listing of lifestyle factors. To reach a higher level, all ideas would need to be fully extended and supported with deeper explanation or more detailed contextual examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical structure divided into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for each prompt question, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'In addition', 'Therefore', and 'Furthermore', but some referencing and linking feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'This leads to' and 'For example'. Progression is generally clear, though smoother transitions between sentences would elevate the organisation to a higher level.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'professional growth', 'market expansion', and 'long-term commitment'. However, there are notable lexical resource errors, particularly with word choice, prepositions in collocations, and word forms, such as writing 'to abroad' instead of 'abroad', 'luxury life style' instead of 'luxurious lifestyle', and 'One of the benefit' instead of 'One of the benefits'. There are also minor spelling and capitalisation issues, such as 'Inaddition' and 'india'. These inaccuracies indicate a typical intermediate lexical level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are noticeable grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues such as 'a large number of organizations are sending', tense inconsistencies, and missing articles like 'lead a decent lifestyle'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, and while these errors are noticeable and require occasional rereading, they rarely impede overall communication, placing the grammatical control firmly in the intermediate range.
