Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

It is important to note first that the response falls slightly short of the required minimum length of 250 words, containing 240 words. Regarding the content, the essay addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing why the opportunity is good for employees and what advantages it brings to companies, featuring relevant examples such as working in Dubai or a UK branch. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly in the conclusion which relies on generic template phrases rather than summarising the main points effectively. The position is visible, but the lack of full development and the word count deficit prevent the response from achieving a higher rating.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The text displays some overall organisation with basic paragraphing, separating the introduction, employee benefits, company advantages, and conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as starting consecutive sentences with 'Talking about the benefits' or 'Secondly'. Referencing can also be mechanical, and the transitional links between paragraphs lack fluency. To improve, the writer needs to ensure that logical links between sentences and paragraphs are smoother and that each paragraph builds progressively on the previous one without relying on repetitive transitional patterns.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'multifacted' and 'sustainable', but also makes noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that may cause some difficulty for the reader. Examples of spelling and word-choice errors include 'empolyees' instead of employees, 'opperunities' instead of opportunities, 'vist' instead of visit, and 'companies has more benefit' instead of companies have more benefits. These lexical inaccuracies reflect a basic control of word formation and spelling, meaning the vocabulary remains restricted to a lower band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and basic complex forms, with attempts at complex structures often being faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement that can cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'This is very good trend' missing an article, 'When they work in new country', 'companies has more benefit', and 'if a worker from a UK branch work from a pakistani branch' showing agreement and capitalization issues. Punctuation errors are also present, such as the awkward spacing in 'well -balanced'. These frequent errors place the grammatical control within the lower band.
