Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both why the opportunity is good for employees and the advantages it brings to companies, including 8 words copied from the prompt. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the discussion on employee benefits mentions exposure to the international market and cultural exploration, but the supporting examples remain somewhat repetitive and limited in depth. Similarly, the company advantages are introduced with general statements like 'adaption of significant elements' rather than fully expanded explanations. To reach a higher level, the response would need to extend and support all main points with more specific, well-developed examples and a clearer, more sustained position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to organise ideas into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each part of the prompt, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. The writer relies on basic cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'In addition to this', and 'Furthermore', which can feel repetitive. Furthermore, referencing is not always clear, as seen in phrases like 'these new exposure' or 'this experience can make significant changes in the association'. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to use a wider variety of cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure that logical relationships between sentences and paragraphs flow more naturally without mechanical transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'multi-national', 'multi-cultural society', and 'headquarters'. However, there are noticeable word-choice, word-form, and collocation errors that reflect a limited range, such as 'internationational market' (spelling/word choice), 'adaption of significant elements', 'increase the exposure of foreign market', and 'convert in lot of profit'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to restrict the lexical score. To improve, the writer should focus on precise word choices, correct word forms, and natural collocations rather than relying on translated or overly forced expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures with relative clauses and conditional-like phrasing, such as 'because of these opportunities can make it possible'. However, there are numerous grammatical errors involving prepositions, articles, subject-verb agreement, and sentence construction. Examples include 'in other country' (missing article/pluralisation), 'it increase the exposure' (agreement error), and 'opportunities of working in another countries' (pluralisation error). Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they persist throughout the text and demonstrate limited control over complex grammatical patterns. To reach the next band, the writer must produce a higher proportion of error-free sentences and improve control over basic grammatical agreements and article usage.
