Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both why the opportunity is good for employees and the advantages it brings to companies, including 9 words copied from the prompt. A clear position is presented throughout the introduction and conclusion. However, some ideas are under-developed or remain somewhat repetitive. For instance, while the benefits for employees are mentioned in terms of becoming more experienced and getting promotions, the explanation relies on general statements like 'gain knowledge about an international strategies' rather than fully explored examples. To reach the next band, the writer needs to extend and support these ideas with more specific explanations and fully developed examples of how working abroad impacts both parties.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression of ideas from the introduction, through body paragraphs dedicated to employees and companies respectively, to a concluding summary. Paragraphing is used logically to separate distinct themes. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'One of the advantages', and 'In conclusion' are employed to structure the text, though referencing and transitions can occasionally feel a bit mechanical. The half band level is achieved because the organization is clear and easy to follow, but it falls short of a fully smooth logical progression due to slightly repetitive transitional phrases and minor cohesion slip-ups.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'international organizations', 'professional skills', and 'competitive in the market'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, form, and spelling that reflect the current band level. Examples include 'permotions' instead of promotions, 'extreme competitive' instead of extremely competitive, 'an international strategies', and 'professional manners'. These inaccuracies do not entirely impede communication, but they prevent the vocabulary from achieving the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as in sentences beginning with 'if' and 'that'. However, there is a limited range of structures successfully controlled, and frequent errors persist in basic grammar, including article misuse ('an international strategies', 'a opportunity'), pluralization ('their employees knows'), and prepositions. While these errors are noticeable and can cause occasional difficulty for the reader, communication remains generally clear, placing the grammatical performance firmly at this level.
