Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world many multinational firms offer their employees the opportunity to work and live in abroad country. It is beneficial for the employees because they can build global level competence in their work and get to explore new countries and cultures. whereas companies also get benefited by bringing their perent company's values and skills to their subsideries in other countries and bringing new technical skills into their perent company when they come back. In my opinion it brings more value to the companies in comparison to employees because it genrates huge amount of profites for them rather than just strengthning a skill in case of workers.

Firstly, when companies send their workers to abroad they get world-wide exposer in their field; also it forces them to build their competence through challenging them in different circumstances. They are forced to work with people from different mindsets, cultures and skills. They may also need to learn a completely new language. For instance, when my brother went to United States of America for his companies IT work he had to learn english and had to work with so many different kind of people there. He became more valuable for the market when he came back as many firms were ready to hire him at very high package in comparison to before.

Companies also get profited because of it, as it transfers the values and quality skills form the perent company to subsideries. When employees come back to them they can bring new skills and ideas which ultimately benifit the organization.

In conclusion, sending employees to work abroad is benificial for both the parties but companies get more benefits in comparison to employees in terms of growth and profits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both why the opportunity is good for employees and what advantages it brings to companies, while also taking a clear position in the introduction and conclusion. For instance, the writer outlines employee benefits such as building global-level competence and cultural exposure, and company benefits such as transferring values to subsidiaries. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. The discussion regarding employees is somewhat repetitive, focusing mainly on gaining exposure and higher packages, whereas the company perspective is a bit general and lacks deeper extension. To reach a higher level, all parts of the prompt would need more thorough and detailed elaboration with fully extended supporting points rather than relying on brief generalisations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introductory stance, body paragraphs addressing specific aspects of the prompt, and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the main ideas. Nevertheless, cohesion within and between sentences is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For example, the transitional phrase 'whereas companies also get benefited' awkwardly links contrasting ideas in the introduction, and referencing through pronouns like 'it' is occasionally unclear, leaving the reader to deduce whether the pronoun refers to the employee, the company, or the overall development. To improve cohesion further, the writer should employ a wider and more natural variety of cohesive devices and ensure smoother logical transitions between paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate main ideas about international work and corporate benefits. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'multinational firms', 'competence', and 'subsideries', but these are accompanied by noticeable spelling errors ('perent', 'subsideries', 'genrates', 'profites', 'exposer', 'benificial') and occasional word choice imprecisions like 'high package' instead of 'high salary package' or 'lucrative offer'. While these errors do not seriously impede communication, they reflect a restricted level of precision and control. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand the lexical range and eliminate recurring spelling mistakes by exercising greater care with word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional ideas. There are some error-free sentences, such as the concluding sentence of the second paragraph, but the text also contains several structural and grammatical errors. Examples include preposition misuse ('in abroad country', 'send their workers to abroad'), article omission ('for his companies IT work'), and minor agreement issues. These errors persist throughout the text but rarely impede overall communication. To move to a higher level of grammatical performance, the writer needs to produce a greater proportion of error-free complex sentences and maintain tighter control over prepositions and basic syntactic structures.
