Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the recent year, many multinational companies significantly offers their staff the chance of living and working in another country. While this development can be good to the employees, it can also be very beneficial to the growth of the company. This essay will discuss both aspects and present relevant examples.

To begin with, there are several reasons why this will be favorable to workers. Firstly, it will enable them gain international experience. This is because, working in another country exposes them to a different working pracitce and professional standards. Unless organizations want to keep practicing at a particular level without any form of upgrade, they should provide room for wokers to live and work in a foreign nation. For example, a nigerian pharmacist who works for an overseas company like GSK, will gain the valuable experience that will imporve their carrer prospect when they return home. As a result, contribute to future learning. This is clear indication that it is good for members of staff to visit overseas.

Furthermore, there are various advantages that this development has towards a company. They can understand foreign market. The reason for this is because, if a staff live in another country they can gain better understanding of local customers and their needs. For instance, a nigerian emloyee sent to work in the Uk can learn their preferences and purchasing habits. Therefore, this will help the company adapts its product and successfully expand into Uk's market. This demonstrates why it is beneficial to a corporation as well.

In conclusion, a firm should give workers the chance to reside and work in a for abroad because it can build stronger knowledge of the market and sales, on the hand, it can lead to greater career prospects to their members of staff.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions and maintain a clear overall position: overseas work can benefit employees through international experience and companies through better knowledge of foreign markets. The examples of a Nigerian pharmacist and an employee learning UK customers’ preferences make the points relevant. However, the employee benefit is developed less fully: “As a result, contribute to future learning” is unclear and does not explain how the experience improves career prospects. The company benefit is more clearly linked to adapting products and expanding into a market. To strengthen the response, explain the outcomes of each benefit more fully and make the connection between examples and claims explicit. This would give the ideas the fuller development expected at the next level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for employees and companies, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Firstly,” and “Furthermore” help readers follow the main points. However, some linking is mechanical, and a few connections are unclear. For example, “As a result, contribute to future learning” does not form a complete or clearly connected idea, while “This is clear indication” refers back vaguely. The conclusion also combines the two benefits in a sentence whose relationship between them is difficult to follow. Use cohesive devices more selectively and make references explicit; ensure each sentence develops the point immediately before it. This would make progression smoother and less dependent on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “international experience,” “professional standards,” “local customers,” and “purchasing habits,” which allows you to discuss both sides of the question. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “career prospects” and “expand into” a market. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “pracitce,” “wokers,” “imporve,” “carrer,” and “emloyee” appear, and phrases such as “advantages … towards a company” and “for abroad” are not natural in context. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “good” and “beneficial.” Check spelling carefully, learn common collocations, and choose more precise alternatives to express the same ideas. These improvements would make the vocabulary more flexible and accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if a staff live in another country” and a relative clause in “a Nigerian pharmacist who works…”. The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors remain and occasionally make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “significantly offers” after the plural subject “companies,” “it will enable them gain” without “to,” and “the company adapts” where the sentence requires a form matching “will help.” The fragment “As a result, contribute to future learning” also lacks a clear subject. Review subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after “enable” and “help,” and complete sentence construction. Greater control of these forms, alongside your existing complex attempts, would improve accuracy.
