Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's world, many multinational companies wants their employees to have international exploure so that they can serve company better. One of the main reason is to centeralized the same process in the entire eco-system of the company. Now this is a win win situation for both employee and as well as employeer. Followings are the reasons why this is a very good opportunity and advantages for an emoployee and companies respectively.

The biggest advantage an employee will get to live and learn in a foregin country adding value to his/her resume as well as enhancing skillset. Emoployee get to learn different business processes, dynamics and and potential of a business. Moreover, it will also help an employee to build network and find a new opportunity within same company.

In my own experience, I am currently working for BWXT Canada. Last year our companies decided to open a new unit on a foreign land. In order to steamline the process and replicate the same process company decide to do internal hiring rather than hiring directly from outside. Many of my colleagues decided to apply for the oppotunities.

Similarly, from a company's perspective, giving an employee a chance to work and live in a different countries help them build a strong eco system and standarized the process globally. Additonally, this is one of the most cost effective way of cutting training cost and employee turnover. Companies wants people who can serve them for a longer period. Now giving an employee a opportunity to work in a different countries allow them to save cost as they don't have spend more on training as employee will be already aware about the culture and process. For a business tenured employee is always an assets. An experienced worker will always support better decision making and will contribute to growth of the business. For example, I am currrently working for Siemens Canada, my manager is from India, he is been with Siemens for last 15 years. Despite of strict foreign worker policies company decided to bring him to Canada because he understands the process better. This helped company save both time as well as money.

In conclusion, this is one of the best practice a company can follow as it will allow both company as well as employee to effective and efficiently working.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions and maintain a clear, relevant position: overseas assignments can benefit employees through experience and career development, and companies through process consistency and reduced training costs. The examples about your colleagues applying for a new unit and your manager moving from India help make the discussion concrete. This meets the task well, with some elements of a stronger response already present. However, the employee benefits are less fully explained than the company benefits: for instance, “build network and find a new opportunity” is mentioned but not developed with a clear explanation or example. The opening claim about centralising processes also needs a clearer link to the employee’s opportunity. Develop each main benefit with a specific explanation of how it helps the relevant group.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate discussion of employee and company benefits, examples, and a conclusion. Paragraphing generally helps the reader identify the two perspectives, and transitions such as “Moreover,” “Similarly,” and “For example” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several benefits are added without clear prioritisation, and some links are mechanical or unclear. The opening sentence about centralising processes does not connect smoothly to the employee-focused paragraph. References such as “this” and “they” can also leave the reader unsure which idea or group is meant. Use clearer topic sentences and make each paragraph develop one main point before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “international,” “replicate,” “standardized,” “employee turnover,” and “decision making.” These choices show an effort to discuss workplace and business concepts rather than relying only on basic language. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “company,” “employee,” and “process,” while inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable: “exploure,” “centeralized,” “emoployee,” and “tenured employee is always an assets.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “on a foreign land” and “build a strong eco system.” These errors can distract the reader and occasionally make meaning less precise. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations such as “gain international experience” and “standardise procedures across offices.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, including sentences beginning with “In order to” and “Despite of,” and the main ideas are usually understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and verb forms. For example, “many multinational companies wants” should use a plural verb, while “giving an employee a chance … help them” needs agreement between the subject and verb. There are also faulty constructions such as “he is been with Siemens for last 15 years” and “they don't have spend more on training.” These errors recur and sometimes make the reader pause. Practise accurate sentence patterns for explaining causes and results, and proofread each sentence for agreement, articles, and verb form.
