Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, business trips to different countries have become very comon in many parts of the world. Multi-national companies send their employees abroad to explore different work ideas and expand their business. in my opinion, this opportunity benefits both the employees and the companies. This essay will examine the reasons behind this trend before explaining my position.

There are many reasons why living and working in another country is beneficial for employees. The primary reason is that it allows them to learn a lot, and broaden their mindset. This is because when workers get an opportunity to spend a period of time living and working in another country, they explore different business strategies, learn about international cultures, and gain more experience. Moreover, they also interact with international business tycoons. As a result, they become more efficient in their work. Furthermore, living in another country give them a chance to visit that country, enjoy its culture, and have a break from their daily routine. Thus, this is a great opportunity for the staff members to avail.

As for the second question, I believe sending staff members to another country is very beneficial for the companies as well. The major reason for this is that it allows companies to expand internationally. This is primarily because, a staff member represents that company in another country. They expand their knowledge for the development of the company in that country. Consequently, it leads to the betterment and growth of the business.

In conclusion, international companies sending their staff to another country, is beneficial for both the staff members and the company as well. This is because it gives employees the ooportunity to gain more experience and visit another country, whereas the company expands its business internationally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions and maintain a clear overall view that the opportunity benefits employees and companies. The employee section gives relevant reasons—learning business strategies, understanding other cultures and gaining experience—while the company section identifies international expansion. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than fully explained or supported. For example, “they become more efficient” does not show how the experience improves their work, and the company paragraph does not explain how an employee’s overseas role leads to business growth. The claim that staff can “have a break” is less directly connected to the professional benefits asked about. Develop each main idea with a specific explanation or example, and make the distinction between living and working abroad and a short business trip clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for employees and companies, and a conclusion. The sequence within each section is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “As for the second question” help readers track the discussion. This clear organisation meets the lower-band expectations and shows some flexibility in linking ideas. At times, however, transitions feel formulaic, and the links between claims are not fully developed: “They expand their knowledge” is followed by “Consequently, it leads to the betterment” without explaining the causal steps. The conclusion largely repeats the introduction. Use fewer stock transitions and build clearer links between each reason, its explanation, and its result.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “international cultures,” “business strategies,” “expand internationally,” and “development of the company,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “broaden their mindset” and “business tycoons.” However, the range is limited by repetition of “another country,” “opportunity,” and “beneficial,” and some choices are imprecise or unnatural. “Business trips” does not accurately describe a period of living and working abroad, while “avail” is awkward in “a great opportunity for the staff members to avail.” Spelling slips such as “comon” and “ooportunity” are noticeable. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including explanations with “because” and result clauses with “As a result” and “Consequently.” Most meaning remains clear, but errors in agreement, sentence boundaries, and punctuation recur. For example, “living in another country give them” needs subject–verb agreement, and the lowercase “in my opinion” after a full stop should begin with a capital. The opening of the company paragraph has an unnecessary comma in “This is primarily because, a staff member…,” while the conclusion also separates the subject from its verb with a comma. Some sentence patterns are repetitive, and the longer causal sentences are not always controlled. Practise checking agreement and punctuation, and vary clause structures while keeping each sentence clear.
