Student answer (Band 5.0)
These days, various large corporations offer their employees the opportunity to spend a period of time living and working in another country. This trend can be beneficial for the employees to explore different regions and work on their skills. Similarly, it is useful for the companies to fullfill workforce requirements in other countries.
To begin with, when employees are sent to other nations to live and work there, it allows them to learn from about the culture and lifestyle of the local people. They can meet new people and learn from their experiences. It increases their knowledge and understanding. Secondly, when employees live in other countries, they can use local available resources to polish their skills to excel in their professional careers. For instance, In many parts of the Canada government provides free French classes to everyone. People can learn French which will aid them in their career.
Similarly, sending employees to other countries for work is useful for the companies also, as they can fill the workforce needs in other countries. Whenever employees resign from thier roles, companies can arrange workers from other countries to fill immideate staff shortages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both questions: employees may learn about local culture and develop professionally, while companies can use overseas staff to meet workforce needs. The example of French classes gives one relevant illustration, but the company benefit is only briefly stated, and the employee benefits need fuller explanation and support. The response therefore covers the task only partially, with ideas that remain limited and under-developed. It is also below the required minimum: it contains 176 words, 74 short of 250, and 14 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Use the remaining space to explain how international experience benefits employees and companies, and add specific examples for both parts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction is followed by a paragraph on employees and one on companies. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Secondly,” and “Similarly” help signal the main points. However, the progression is limited because the final paragraph introduces only one company advantage and ends without a concluding summary. Some links are also mechanical or unclear: “Similarly” does not clearly show the relationship between the employee and company sections, and “it” in “it allows them” has an imprecise reference. Develop each paragraph around a clear main idea, connect explanations to examples, and finish with a brief conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “corporations,” “workforce requirements,” “local people,” and “professional careers,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “fullfill workforce requirements,” “local available resources,” and “polish their skills.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “thier” and “immideate,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions for the benefits of international assignments and check spelling carefully. Using a wider range of natural collocations would make the response clearer and more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some attempts at more complex structures, such as “when employees are sent to other nations…” and “as they can fill the workforce needs…”. Most of the meaning remains clear. However, some sentence patterns are faulty: “it allows them to learn from about the culture” combines incompatible constructions, and “In many parts of the Canada government provides…” has problems with article use and sentence punctuation. The opening sentence of the employee paragraph also shifts from a plural subject (“employees”) to “it,” making the reference unclear. Practise building accurate subordinate clauses and check articles, pronoun references, and punctuation when editing.
