Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary world, several large international companies give an opportunity to their employees to spend a certain period of time to live and perform their work from an another country. According to certain people this would be an amazing opportunity for the workers in terms of developments and consequently this can bring more advantages to the firms. In my opinion, I completely agree with this that this way companies can have more opportunity towards their business and for employees it is an amazing way to improve their knowledge. I will discuss the reasons with relevant examples in upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, The companies often take several decisions in order to grow their business globaly and sending their employees to work in another country or area plays a vital role in the success of their company. This step allows them to explore the culture of the country which includes people behaviour, having an understanding of different kinds of businesses that the country has, competition in the market, festivals and traditions. Owing to, the firm can get a clarification on what different types of businesses they can establish there and by establishing new businesses the companies can improve their annual income. For example, Shien which is established in China and provides fation and accesories products. They started their business globaly in 2013 once they achieved their success in China.
Further more, the employees are able to improve their knowledge of another country by residing there. It is amazing opportunity for them to explore the new world around them free of cost because majority of the expenses are paid by the firm. Moreover, the workers can learn new skills and can have an amazing experience by living in totally new area. For instance, several employees of walmart store are registering themselves to obtain experience working in head office of USA in order to live and work in a new environment. Major benefit for the employees is that this will be totally free of cost for them. Nonetheless, the workers may feel homesick or language barrier problems but these are negligible because they can survive with the help of technology.
In essence, this is beneficial for employees who are willing to work in a new environment and for the comanies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions and gives a clear overall view: overseas placements can help companies expand and employees gain knowledge and experience. The company-focused paragraph explains how staff can learn about local culture, competition and business conditions, and the Shein example supports the expansion point. The employee benefits are also relevant, particularly learning new skills and experiencing a different environment. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that placements are “free of cost” is not explored beyond saying the firm pays most expenses, and the Walmart example is unclear about how the placement benefits the employee. Develop each example with a more precise link to the stated advantage, and explain the benefits to both parties in comparable depth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for company and employee benefits, and a brief conclusion. The sequence within the company paragraph—from learning about the market to identifying business opportunities—is generally logical. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “For instance” help guide the reader. At times, however, cohesion feels mechanical or the relationship between ideas is unclear. “Owing to” is left as an awkward sentence opening, while “Nonetheless” introduces homesickness and language barriers without clearly connecting these concerns to the main argument. The conclusion is also very brief and does not bring together the two strands. Use clearer links between cause and result, and make the final paragraph summarise the main advantages.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “competition in the market,” “annual income,” “homesick,” and “language barrier.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and there are attempts to use more formal expressions such as “plays a vital role.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “perform their work from an another country,” “explore the new world,” and “obtain experience working” are not natural formulations in this context. Spelling errors such as “globaly,” “fation,” “accesories,” and “comanies” also detract from control. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; a smaller set of well-chosen expressions would communicate the ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is an attempt to use both simple and complex sentence forms, including relative clauses and cause-and-effect structures, as in “This step allows them to explore the culture of the country which includes…” and “by establishing new businesses the companies can improve their annual income.” Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include the article construction “an another country,” the sentence fragment “Owing to, the firm can get…,” and the awkwardly formed opening “I completely agree with this that…”. There are also issues with sentence boundaries and punctuation, such as the comma after “Owing to” and the capitalised “The” after “To begin with.” Review articles, clause construction and punctuation, and revise complex sentences to ensure each has a clear grammatical structure.
