Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both questions and maintains a clear positive view: employees can gain professional experience, language and communication skills, while companies may improve efficiency and expand internationally. The examples about learning from colleagues of different nationalities and understanding local markets are relevant. This meets the task well, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between overseas experience and promotion is not developed, and the company benefits of improved teamwork and efficiency could be illustrated more specifically. The conclusion summarises the main ideas, though “generate more future opportunities in company” is unclear. To strengthen the response further, explain the practical effects of each benefit and support them with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for employee and company benefits, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress logically, and signposting such as “For instance,” “To illustrate,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the argument. This is a coherent arrangement, although some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the company paragraph, the move from sharing knowledge to global teamwork and then market understanding would be smoother if the relationship between these points were made explicit. The reference in “This understanding and corporation” is also not fully clear. Use linking phrases selectively and make pronouns and summary references point unmistakably to the preceding idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “professional experience,” “communication skills,” “global teamwork,” “efficiency,” and “global expansion.” These choices help convey the main ideas, and some less common expressions are attempted. However, noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision, as in “recongnized,” “postive,” “foriegn,” “corporation” (apparently intended to mean cooperation), and “offerring.” Phrases such as “positive outcome” and “future opportunites in company” are also imprecise or unnatural. The meaning is usually recoverable, but careful proofreading and more natural combinations would improve control. Prioritise accurate spelling and learn vocabulary in common collocations rather than relying on broad phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including relative clauses (“which would eventually help them to get promoted”) and a concluding contrast with “whereas.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “This essays will further elaborate,” “these opportunities helps,” “employees who choose,” “Working in another country enable,” and “The employees shares.” The sentence beginning “To illustrate, by working…” also lacks a clear grammatical subject. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main message remains understandable. Focus on matching subjects and verbs, and check that each sentence has a clear subject and a correctly formed main verb.
