Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays most of the large international companies offer their staff the opportunity to spend a time period living and working in a different country because it enhances their working abilities. Also it improves their working etiquette, which they can use while working in their home company. Moreover, this opportunity may bring foreign sales techniques in the company and may help companies to adapt to the latest marketing trends.

To begin with, many large companies offer their staff the oppoprtunity to work and live in a different country because this opportunity may provide a different working exposure for the employees. This is because while working in foreign companies, employee may improve their working abilities such as being punctual and adaptive by learning foreign working culture. Futhermore, employees may also learn office etiquette, which can be being respectful to every colleague. For example, in China the employees follow a rule of showing respect to every employee. As a result, other employyes may adapt this culture and they may show respect and regards to seniors and juniors.

Although, working in different nation can enhance staff's working ethics, it can also bring advantages to the companies. This is because when employees live and learn various points while working in foreign industries, they may implement it into their home companies. For example, employees can learn new ways of online promotions such as adds and memes, which they can share with their home companies and by implementing that they can increase their sales. Also, this opportunity can bring new sales trends, which can be adapted by the companies to acheive higher sales.

To conclude, allowing employees to work in foreign companies can be advantageous to both employees and company. This opportunity can bring personal and company's overall growth in terms of sales.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both questions: it explains how overseas work may build employees’ abilities and cultural awareness, and how companies could benefit from new promotional methods and sales trends. The examples about respect in China and online promotions help make these points relevant. However, the employee benefits are developed more clearly than the company benefits, which are largely reduced to increasing sales. The opening and conclusion also make broad claims about growth without explaining them, and the example of learning from “foreign companies” is not fully connected to the stated opportunity of working in another country for one’s own employer. Develop the company advantages further—for example, by explaining how international experience can improve collaboration, local-market knowledge, or staff retention.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for employee and company benefits, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the response. Some links, however, are mechanical or awkward: “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “As a result” are used to connect points that could be related more explicitly, while “Although” at the start of the company paragraph suggests a contrast that is not clearly established. The opening repeats ideas that are then restated in the body, and references such as “this opportunity” recur frequently. Improve progression by making each paragraph’s main point explicit, then showing how each example supports it, and use linking phrases only when their logical relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, and the response attempts relevant terms such as “working etiquette,” “foreign working culture,” and “online promotions.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural or imprecise, including “a different working exposure,” “working ethics,” and “sales trends.” Spelling errors such as “oppoprtunity,” “Futhermore,” “employyes,” “acheive,” and “adds” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they make the expression less clear and controlled. Build a more precise vocabulary for workplace skills and business outcomes, and proofread spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response uses both simple sentences and some complex forms, including clauses beginning “because,” “while,” and “which.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “employee may improve” needs a plural or an article, and “which can be being respectful” has an incorrect verb construction. The sentence beginning “Although, working in different nation…” has faulty punctuation and an incomplete article pattern; “both employees and company” also needs a plural or determiner. There is some control of sentence structure, but accuracy is uneven. Review subject–verb and article use, and check that subordinate clauses are attached to complete sentences with appropriate punctuation.
