Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question and maintain a clear, relevant focus. For employees, you mention confidence, learning about another country’s rules and culture, and improved career opportunities; for companies, you explain that overseas experience can help them understand foreign markets, attract customers, and share ideas. These points answer the task, but some are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the Canada–Japan example illustrates cultural learning, but you could show more specifically how that knowledge benefits an employee’s work or career. Similarly, explain how understanding a foreign market leads to better business decisions, rather than moving quickly from attracting customers to productivity. Developing these links and adding a more concrete example would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for employee and company benefits, and a conclusion that summarises both. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated frames such as “To explain it more” and frequent use of “also.” Some references are unclear: in “Instead of it, they can know about their costumes,” the relationship to the previous point is difficult to follow, and “they” could refer to different people. Improve progression by linking each explanation directly to the preceding claim and using precise references. More varied transitions and clearer sentence connections would make the organisation feel less formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “confidence,” “culture and traditions,” “foreign markets,” “customers,” and “competitive.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make parts less clear. For example, “working with another countries” and “know about their costumes” do not express the intended meanings naturally; “costumes” is especially confusing when discussing culture. Spelling errors such as “postive,” “Instad,” “carrer,” and “peoductivity” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for international work and business, and check spelling and collocations carefully during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including conditional phrasing in “if a person is working in another country” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “a opportunity,” “employees abroad. One major advantage,” “working with another countries,” and “This development also give benefits.” There are also problems with agreement in “they can also boosts” and inconsistent capitalisation after sentence breaks, as in “To begin with, It.” These errors show that control of articles, plurals, verb forms, and punctuation needs attention. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries, while continuing to use a mix of simple and complex structures.
