Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions and maintains a relevant position: overseas placements can broaden employees’ experience and motivate staff, while companies may attract applicants and encourage stronger performance. The discussion of cultural exposure, adapting to different teams, and learning about technology gives the employee benefits some explanation. However, the company advantages are less fully developed: the points about recruitment and motivation are asserted rather than supported with a concrete example or further explanation of how the company benefits. The opening and conclusion also repeat the general claim without adding much. To strengthen the response, explain the business impact—for example, how returning employees might share new skills or help a company serve international clients—and support each main point with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on employee benefits, a paragraph on company benefits, and a conclusion. The shift signalled by “On the other hand” helps distinguish the two parts of the task, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order. Some connections are less precise or mechanical, however. “These situations” refers broadly to the preceding discussion of setbacks, and the link between setbacks and improved decision-making could be made clearer. The employee-benefit paragraph also moves from cultural learning to technology and then difficulties without clearly grouping these points. Use topic sentences and more explicit links between each benefit and its result, while keeping referencing precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses a relevant range of vocabulary, including “broaden their perspective,” “adapt,” “decision making,” “communication,” and “motivation.” These choices help convey the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “plays a big impact,” “a whole wide of change,” “a great point on one’s credentials,” and “inaccessiblity.” Repetition of “opportunity,” “travel,” and “employees” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise business and workplace vocabulary, and check spelling and common word partnerships. For example, describe an opportunity as having a “positive impact,” and explain that international experience can “strengthen an employee’s professional profile.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the conditional idea “so they will be offered to travel in the future” and clauses beginning “Being able to travel” and “from being able to travel.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. Examples include “These kind of opportunity” (number agreement), “different culture” (plural form), and “countries that offers” (subject–verb agreement). The sentence “Employees can be able to experience” also uses an unnecessarily combined modal construction. Review agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms, and practise varying sentence structures while keeping them controlled. These corrections would make the argument smoother and more accurate.
