Student answer (Band 5.0)

nowadays several big international agency offer their employee the oppotunity to stay a period of time living and working abroad. I think this scenario is depend on the situations of the the worker but for me I think it is better and good opportunity. In my point of view i think it is a good opportunity to the employee beacause it is a life long work to the employee in they feel you are a good employee beacause they can offer working abroad, work abroad is better and you gain more experience there and you can experience other culture and langauges there it is a previllage to accept the offer and grab the opportunity beacause nowadays many worker are interested to the kind of offer. The advantages this development for company is they absolutely secure what kind of worker they want and they know the calibre of the worker it is much better to the company beacause they know the employee they hire can provide and meet the expectation of the quality of work to the company, like my friend john he offered to work abroad and not only to work but also to stay or lived there and even now they still in abroad working and all of his family were there, they migrate to abroad to complete their family and they like to work abroad beacause of high salary and not only the salary they like the also the weather and atmosphere, culture of abroad.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you mention employees gaining experience and encountering other cultures and languages, and suggest that companies can assess workers’ ability to meet expectations. However, the ideas are only partly developed, and your position is not consistently clear. The opening says the opportunity depends on the worker’s situation, while later you call it a good opportunity without explaining this qualification. The company benefits are also asserted rather than explained in detail; for example, clarify how an overseas assignment improves a company’s performance or international operations. Your friend’s experience is relevant, but the focus on salary, weather and family migration does not clearly demonstrate an advantage to the company. The response is 7 words below the required minimum, and fuller development of both parts is needed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organisation: the response moves from an introduction to employee benefits and then to company benefits. This gives the reader a general sense of the two parts of the task. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because several separate points are joined into very long sentences, particularly the employee-benefit paragraph. Linking phrases such as “In my point of view” and repeated uses of “because” do not clearly show how each idea relates to the next. The example about your friend also shifts from work experience to salary, weather and family without a clear connection to the company’s advantages. Use shorter sentences, organise one main idea per paragraph, and connect examples explicitly to the point they support.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “experience,” “culture,” “languages,” “calibre” and “expectation,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “opportunity,” “work abroad” and “employee.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “international agency” for a large business and “it is a life long work” for a long-term career benefit. Spelling errors, including “oppotunity,” “beacause,” “langauges” and “previllage,” also make the writing less clear and polished. Build a more precise set of workplace terms and check spelling; this will help you express the benefits without relying on repeated general words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to express connected ideas and give reasons, but the response relies heavily on long sentences joined by “and” and “because,” and these are often difficult to control. Errors in sentence structure and verb forms appear throughout. For example, “this scenario is depend on the situations” needs a correctly formed verb, while “they still in abroad working” has an incomplete verb construction. There are also problems with agreement and articles, as in “many big international agency offer their employee.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add a range of subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries when editing.
