Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: you explain that overseas work can build employees’ skills and confidence, and that companies may identify promotion candidates, attract staff, and improve their reputation. Your personal example about managing deadlines and resolving tension in a team gives the employee benefits some relevant support. However, the company advantages are listed rather than explained, and the link between working abroad and identifying promotion potential could be clearer. Some employee ideas, such as exposure and learning new skills, also overlap and would benefit from more precise development. To strengthen the response, explain how international experience improves an employee’s capabilities and how those capabilities benefit the company, using a specific example for each side of the question.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an overall structure, moving from employee benefits to company advantages and then a conclusion. The opening phrase “On the other hand” signals the shift in focus, and “Conclusion” makes the ending easy to identify. However, the first main section is a very long, loosely connected paragraph, so the progression from skills to the team example is difficult to follow. Some links are unclear, particularly the move from the manager’s advice to the discussion of problem-solving. The conclusion repeats the general idea of mutual benefit without clearly summarising the two main arguments. Use separate paragraphs for each question, organise each around one central point, and use clear references and transitions to show how examples support that point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “time management,” “problem solving,” “tight deadlines,” “potential employee,” and “reputation.” These terms help communicate the main ideas, and the response attempts to describe workplace relationships and performance. However, word choice, spelling, and collocation errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear, as in “gave staff to works aboard,” “rigid to changes,” and “increase the bonds.” Several ideas also rely on repeated general words such as “good,” “skills,” and “company.” Build a more precise range for discussing international experience and business outcomes, and check spelling and natural word combinations. For example, describe staff as “working overseas” and explain that this can “strengthen team cohesion.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason-and-example sequence and clauses linked with “that” and “so.” This shows an effort to express connected ideas rather than relying only on short statements. However, control is limited: verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries are often inaccurate. Examples include “it gave them good exposure,” “it also help,” and “we decide go for party.” The opening is also not a complete, well-formed sentence, while several long sentences run together without clear punctuation. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate past and present verb forms, and divide complex thoughts into complete sentences with clear clause boundaries.
