Student answer (Band 5.5)

Multinational companies often ask their employer to travel to another country for work. It is an wonderful opportunity for an employees to experience the culture and food in different country. In recent years, this trend has considerably increased because large companies are continuously trying to expand their branch across the world. By allowing employees to travel, companies do not have to find new employees for temporary assignments. This essay will outline the reasons and benefits of this approach for companies.

To begin, it is observed that a significant number of people love to travel the world but due to financial restrictions and responsibilities, they would not be able to make it. Moreover, travelling is expensive and there are several challenges associated with it. However, top notch employees may be asked to perform some duties in another branch by the companies. They will receive all the necessary help from organization. This opportunity help them to fulfill their dreams and experience of living abroad.

Furthermore, companies are also benefited by allowing their employees to travel abroad. In emergency situation, It is very challenging to find a candidate in the short notice, thereby asking their best employee to perform duties is the best option. Moreover, wages in developed nation is higher compared to developing countries. Therefore, MNC companies allow people to travel for certain period of time. For instance, L&T Construction company from India have been doing this practice to cut the cost. This practice help them to save money at certain contexts.

To sum up, this development is win-win for employers and employee. It allow employer to save money, whereas employees can receive an opportunity to live and exposure in foreign nation. Despite the challenges, employees enjoy their work experience in another country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both questions: it explains that employees can experience life abroad and that companies can transfer existing staff, save recruitment time, and reduce costs. The example of L&T Construction also gives the company-focused discussion some support. However, the employee benefits are developed mainly as travel and cultural experience; further explanation of professional gains, such as new skills or career progression, would make this part more complete. The company advantages are also somewhat unclear: the claim about higher wages in developed nations does not fully explain how sending staff saves money, and the emergency example needs more detail. A clearer position and more precise explanation of how each benefit works would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for employee and company benefits, and a concluding summary. Linking expressions such as “To begin,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up” help signal the progression. However, some connections are mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, the point about wages in developed nations follows the emergency staffing point without a clear link, while the L&T example is not fully connected to the cost-saving claim. The introduction also promises to outline reasons and company benefits, but does not clearly preview the employee-focused discussion. Use more precise transitions and make each example explicitly support the point in its paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses a relevant range of vocabulary, including “financial restrictions,” “temporary assignments,” “emergency situation,” and “cut the cost,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. It also attempts some less common expressions, such as “top notch employees” and “developing countries.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “ask their employer to travel,” “experience of living abroad,” and “save money at certain contexts.” Repetition of “travel” and “opportunity” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise workplace language, such as “assign staff overseas,” “gain international experience,” and “reduce operating costs.” Check word forms and natural collocations so that the intended meaning is consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation with “By allowing employees to travel” and a result clause beginning “thereby.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “It is an wonderful opportunity,” “this opportunity help them,” and “This practice help them,” where articles or subject–verb agreement need correction. There are also problems with plurals and sentence punctuation, as in “In emergency situation, It is very challenging,” and “company from India have been doing this practice.” These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy. Review articles, agreement, and consistent capitalization, and practise combining accurate complex sentences with simpler ones.
