Student answer (Band 6.0)

In contemporary society, big multinational companies offer their staffs to work outside the country. They believe that this opportunity is benefcial for their employees as well as good for the development of the company in other country. This essay will analyze why this is beneficial for both employees and the company.

In recent years, it has seen that employers of an international companies give opportunity to their workers to spend some time in another contry. It is beneficial for the employees in so many ways. To begin with, they will get the experience of living outside their country and know about their cultures and values. They will know about the job markets. Furthermore, they will get the experience of working in another county under the supervision of people other than their own. This will enhance their ability to adapt a new environment.

In today's competitive world, with the rise in competition among companies, many employers believe that it is crucial that their employees work in another country so that they will get the idea of how to manage their business there and compete with local businesses. Through their employees, they will know about the market and stretagies; in addition, how to introduce their business among the local people of that company. However, it is also observed that many companies set up their factories in another country for financial benefits. For instance, China sends their employees to Pakistan because the work force and raw material are cheap there, which means they can produce a product more cost-effective than their own company.

From my perspective, giving the opportunity to the employees outside the country is mutually benefited for both employer and employee. Where employee recieve a new experience and employer know about the market and strategies to get into the market.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both questions and maintains a clear overall view that the opportunity benefits employees and employers. For employees, you explain exposure to another culture and workplace, and the chance to adapt to a new environment. For companies, you discuss learning about local markets and competing with local businesses, then give an example involving production costs. These are relevant points, but some are only briefly explained: for instance, you mention learning about cultures and job markets without showing how this experience could improve an employee’s career or performance. The company example also focuses on cheaper production rather than clearly explaining how sending staff abroad creates that advantage. Develop each point with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and a more directly relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on employee benefits, a paragraph on company advantages, and a concluding summary. Signposting such as “To begin with” and “Furthermore” helps readers follow the employee paragraph, while “For instance” introduces an example. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The company paragraph moves from staff learning about local markets to factories being established abroad, without fully linking these ideas. The conclusion repeats the main claim but adds little synthesis, and the opening sentences of the first body paragraph repeat the introduction’s point. Improve progression by making each paragraph develop one central idea and explicitly connecting examples to the benefit they illustrate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “multinational companies,” “job markets,” “adapt,” “supervision,” and “financial benefits.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some topic-specific language such as “raw material” and “strategies.” However, several word-choice and collocation problems reduce precision: “offer their staffs to work” is not a natural way to describe the opportunity, and “mutually benefited” does not express the intended meaning accurately. There are also spelling errors, including “benefcial,” “contry,” and “stretagies,” alongside repeated use of general terms such as “experience” and “company.” Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; vary repeated words where this improves clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response includes both simple and more complex sentence forms, such as the clause beginning “so that they will get the idea” and the sentence explaining the cost advantage. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “it has seen that employers” needs a passive construction, while “employers of an international companies” has an article and number mismatch. In “Where employee recieve a new experience and employer know,” the clause is incomplete and the nouns and verbs do not agree. There are also awkward constructions such as “giving the opportunity to the employees outside the country.” Work on complete sentence formation, singular/plural agreement, and article use, while retaining the complex structures you attempt.
