Student answer (Band 6.0)

These days, many large global organizations offer their faculty members opportunities to enjoy their time by living and working overseas. It has a number of benefits for both employees and companies. I will discuss the benefits of this notion in my upcoming paragraphs in detail.

To commence with, there are ample merits for workers. First and foremost, they get a chance to explore different cultures and languages. To explain it, employees get the opportunity to meet people who belong to different cultures and backgrounds. Due to this, they broaden their horizons about other cultures and are able to learn and speak other languages. For example, if a person does a job in India and they get a chance to go to Australia for some months or years then they are able to speak english in a good way and also able to know the differences in doing work in two different nations. Therefore, they will get more knowledge about their work in distinct methods.

Furthermore, firms also have a lot of benefits from this opportunity. The primary advantage for organizations is that they do not have a shortage of workers in their companies, because when they have fewer workers at any branch, they can send their employees from another country. As a result, they do not need to hire a new person for that job and it helps them to save money which they need to spend on new hires for training and wages.

To sum up, although employees have a lot of merits from this opportunity, such as, improving their knowledge about different cultures and backgrounds and getting a chance to explore foreign countries. But, we cannot neglect the benefits for companies, as firms get a chance to save their cost and boost their productivity without new hiring.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both questions and maintains a relevant focus: employees can learn about other cultures and languages, while companies can fill staffing gaps and avoid some recruitment and training costs. These are appropriate reasons, and the India–Australia example helps illustrate the employee benefit. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The employee discussion explains cultural learning but could clarify how overseas experience improves career prospects or professional skills; the company point would benefit from a concrete example of how international placements improve operations or productivity. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than adding insight. Develop each advantage with a clearer explanation of its practical impact.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for employees and companies, and a conclusion. The sequence within the employee paragraph is generally logical, moving from exposure to other cultures to learning and workplace knowledge. Connectors such as “First and foremost,” “Furthermore,” and “As a result” help guide the reader. This organisation is effective, but some linking is formulaic, and the conclusion’s “although … But” construction makes the relationship between ideas awkward. The opening also promises discussion “in my upcoming paragraphs,” which is less direct than simply stating the two benefits. To strengthen progression, use transitions that express the precise relationship between ideas and make references between sentences clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

Vocabulary is adequate for discussing the topic, with relevant terms such as “broaden their horizons,” “shortage of workers,” “training,” and “productivity.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, including “primary advantage” and “distinct methods.” However, some choices are unnatural or imprecise: “faculty members” usually refers to academic staff, “enjoy their time” does not accurately describe a work placement, and “save their cost” is an awkward collocation. “English” should also be capitalised. These choices do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Prefer vocabulary that fits international employment contexts, such as “employees,” “gain overseas experience,” and “reduce recruitment costs.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses with “because” and “when,” and the meaning is generally clear. Some sentences are controlled, such as “As a result, they do not need to hire a new person for that job.” There are, however, some grammatical errors and awkward constructions. In “if a person does a job in India and they get a chance,” the pronouns shift from singular to plural; use “they” consistently or write “that person.” The conclusion’s “although … But” creates an incomplete contrast structure, and “employees have a lot of merits … such as, improving” has faulty punctuation and construction. Review pronoun agreement and ensure contrast clauses form complete, balanced sentences.
