Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays many big companies give their workers a chance to work in another country i think this is good for both workers and companies.
This opportunity is good for employees for two main reasons. First they can learn new skills when people work in different country. They will learn how to work with people from different cultures. For example if a filipino works in japan they will learn the japanese work discipline and teamwork. Second they can improve their language skills. If an employee works in a English speaking country like UK or the USA they can practice and improve their English everyday.
This development is also good for the companies. The first advantage is that the companies can have more creative ideas. Workers who came back from other countries bring new ideas and new working ways. For instance if a manager came back from Singapore he may bring better customer service to the Philippine office. The second advantage is that the company can build a better relationship with the customers from other countries.if the company has a staff who understands the local culture they can sell their products much faster.
However some people think this is very expensive for the companies. But for me the benefits will be bigger because the company will have a better workers.
In conclusion working in another country is good for the employees because they can learn new set of skills and language. And this is also good for the companies they can get new ideas and better business. For better reason i think opportunity is very positive for both employees and companies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both questions and maintain a clear, positive view of the opportunity. The employee benefits—learning to work across cultures and improving English—are relevant, and the company benefits of gaining ideas and understanding overseas customers are also identified. The examples involving a Filipino employee in Japan and a manager returning from Singapore help make these points concrete. However, some ideas are only briefly explained: for example, you say staff can sell products faster when they understand local culture, but do not explain how that understanding improves sales. The brief cost counterargument is acknowledged but not developed. More explanation of the effects on employees and companies would make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for employee and company benefits, a counterpoint, and a conclusion. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “First,” “Second,” and “In conclusion” guide the reader. This gives the essay a coherent progression. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical because several points follow the same numbered pattern, and some connections between ideas could be smoother. For instance, the sentence beginning “However some people think…” introduces a new concern without explaining who holds this view or linking it closely to the preceding advantages. Improve cohesion by varying transitions and using clearer references between claims and examples; also ensure sentence boundaries and spacing support the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough relevant vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “different cultures,” “language skills,” “creative ideas,” and “local culture.” These terms suit the topic, and the examples make your meaning generally clear. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “good,” “learn,” “better,” and “companies.” Some choices are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “new working ways,” “a better workers,” and “for better reason.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Build a wider set of topic-specific collocations and check word forms and spelling, including capitalisation of nationalities and languages, to make your expression more accurate and flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and some longer structures, including conditional clauses such as “If an employee works in a English speaking country…” and “if the company has a staff who understands the local culture…”. The overall meaning remains understandable, and the paragraph structure helps the reader follow your points. However, there are some errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and punctuation. Examples include “a English speaking country,” “a better workers,” and “Workers who came back,” where the tense does not fit the general point. Several sentences also run together, as in “other countries.if the company…”, and the opening sentence needs clearer sentence boundaries. Practise accurate articles and agreement, and use a wider range of complex sentence patterns with careful punctuation.
