Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the question and maintains a clear overall view that overseas work benefits employees and companies. Employee advantages include motivation, financial security, and personal and professional growth; company benefits include commitment, stability, and access to globally competitive workers. These are relevant points, but some are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between working abroad and “a sense of belongingness” is unclear, and the company discussion would be stronger with a specific explanation of how international experience improves performance or business outcomes. The examples remain general rather than illustrating a particular situation. Develop the cause-and-effect reasoning behind each main advantage to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on employees and companies, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Additionally,” “Firstly,” and “Furthermore” help show how points relate. This meets the requirements for coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in linking ideas. However, several transitions feel formulaic, and some connections are not fully clear—for instance, the move from employees’ sense of belonging to striving for benefits. There is also a missing space after the full stop in “stability. For example,” and the conclusion largely repeats the main claim rather than drawing the discussion together. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and vary the way you connect supporting points.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financial stability,” “career advancement,” “employment stability,” and “globally competitive.” These expressions help communicate the main ideas, and attempts at less common wording show ambition. Some choices, however, are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “belongingness,” “strive and thrive harder,” “settle for good,” and “established institution.” There are also collocation problems in phrases such as “working in abroad” and “earn more benefits.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the argument, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Focus on common, accurate collocations for workplace topics, and check whether a phrase expresses the intended meaning in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both simple statements and attempts at more complex sentences, using structures such as “While these are highly beneficial to employees, companies… would also gain numerous benefits” and “which will be a great asset.” Meaning is generally clear, but some errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and verb forms remain. For example, “companies offers” should use a plural verb, “it provide” needs agreement, and “These experience” requires a plural noun form. The sentence beginning “an employee who will be given” also uses an awkward future construction for a general example. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and choose verb forms that match general statements. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
